I noticed this probably about 2 weeks ago. I was laying down in our living room relaxing and watching TV when I got this weird sensation, the only way I can explain it is when you get scared and it feels like your heart stops and starts back up that almost rush you get. I started checking my pulse and noticed that when I got that feeling it felt like my heart was skipping a beat. I got really freaked out and had my husband stay home from work so we could go to teh Dr the next morning and by then it had stopped. I called my mom, who has had 8 children, and asked her if this happened to her and she said it did with a few of her pregnancies. My heart is doing it again today. It feels so weird. Ilooked it up online and in pregnancy books and they all said it can happen in pregnancy just let your DR know it was happening. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I am calling my Dr on Tuesday and let him know its happening but my next appointments isnt until the 29th. I worry so much with this pregnancy, between not eating and not eating well when I do eat, I am overweight this time, 5 years older and all the problems I had with my girls, I worry about every little thing. I guess I am just reaching out seeing if anyone understands or has had this happen to help me relax a little bit more. Thank you for just letting me get this out , I am afraid my husband and my friends will get sick of hearing me worry.

I have had that several times. I have also had my pulse start racing for no reason. I believe it is normal as your body is adjusting to the extra blood flow. I would write down when it is happening and what you were doing when it starts. Also avoid caffeine. That should help.

I didn't have this when pregnant with the girls, but I was diagnosed with a heart murmur at my post-partum apt. after having the twins. I didn't have it while I was pregnant...they said that pregnancy can bring on weird stuff like that. I saw a cardio and had an EKG and everything, but they said it was nothing to worry about. But, I would bring it up to your dr.

Yep, me too. I think it is normal too. If I remember correctly, I had this when I was PG with Peyton as well. It only happens in spurts. It won't happen for a few weeks, and then I feel it on and off for a day or so. Then it goes away again.

Sounds like a heart palpitation. I've gotten them for a long time even previous to my pgs... I was diagnosed with a minor heart murmer at age 13, mitral valve prolapse. a little valve in there can get sticky and flap back a bit...with the extra blood flow due to pg this can happen too. But still it is something you should mention to your doctor especially if you feel like you are getting dizzy in connection to it. The only thing different that I have to do is to take antibiotics when I go to the dentist b/c bacteria in your mouth can get into your blood stream really quickly...and I guess can cause an infection in your heart that can do a lot of damage. Even the possibility of this is sooo remote that many people (my aunt, a doctor, who also has MVP) don't bother taking the antibiotic. So it just illustrates that you can have a very minor heart problem that can cause palpitations and even dizziness without it being hugely life altering. Still, it's good to get it checked out just in case.

Yes, I've had this too. Mine feel like my heart skips a beat and then beats really hard a couple of times. Now that you mention it, it's usually when I'm laying down. It's a scary feeling.

Definitely mention it to the dr., but I'd bet it's a result of the extra blood flow from the pregnancy.

I get a feeling like my heart has flipped in it's place a couple of times. More now that I'm pg but would get it when I wasn't. It's a heart arrhythmia, like the heart misses a beat or goes a little slower or quicker. in my case it's nothing to worry about. I feel better if I take a couple deep breaths when it's happening, or just moving around. I'm sure your dr will put your mind to ease.
