I decided I wanted to get the boys out and engaged in some activities - "Mommy & Me(Us)" style! There's only so much I can do with them at home and we were all getting a bit bored. So, we found My Gym and had our first class today. The class was a ton of fun... lots of activities on fun, safe gym equipment-- mats, swings, mat-like steps, a ball pit.... all kinds of fun stuff!

I had a blast (and got a work out) watching my boys having so much fun.

Just thought I'd throw it out there.... and I don't know if they all have a 50% discount for the second twin since it's a franchise company, but ours does and I think it's a great deal! :) Most activities I have looked into only offer about 10% off for the second child.

Anyway, just wanted to spread the word!

Erin - can your boys walk? I had heard that if the kids can't walk, it wasn't much fun - wrong? There is a My Gym about 3 miles away from us, so maybe I'll check it out!

Are you taking the Tiny Tykes class? I am thinking of signing up but wasnt sure if it would be worth it. Were you alone with the 2 of them? I had heard you needed 1 parent per child.

I think I will call them tomorrow!

The class we are in right now is Tiny Tykes. I am taking both of them alone... the teachers do help during some parts, otherwise I just carry one on each hip to move around the different stations (hence the workout for me! ). Neither of mine got upset when being held by the teachers. My boys don't walk... one crawls, and the other is semi-mobile (scooting, rolling). I DO think it will be even more fun when they can walk but I had fun at this stage, and so did they!

Things we did that were fun include putting them both on a trampoline (sitting or laying) & me gently bouncing them... then there was swing time which included these LONG jumperoo-type contraptions that allow them to jump and twirl so much further than our home jumperoo. They also enjoyed meeting other kids, and "hanging" (being held, practicing their grip) from the gymnastics high bar-- a surprisingly big hit!

I think there is a free class coupon on their website... so even if you're not interested in enrolling, it might be a fun thing to do once! :)

For the price, at our location, you get TWO classes each week PLUS an additional open gym session where you can take them for an hour of unstructured play.

(We're big fans if you couldn't tell!)

This is good to hear. I am taking my twins to The Little Gym next Monday for a trial, and it sounds similar. It is pretty costly though. I never heard of My Gym but I found one relatively close also, so I emailed them to check out their schedule and prices.

I've never heard of My Gym but we signed up for Gymboree a few weeks ago and I have been thrilled with it too! We get one class per week, plus there are open gym sessions every day and I've been trying to go as often as possible.

Mine are both crawling and they move around a bit, but they love just watching the other kids run around and play. I think it's good for them socially since we don't have any family here for them to interact with.

We also got a 50% the second twin discount, plus they were running a big time special. We ended up signing up for a year because it was the cheapest - about $56/month for both of them. Not bad since we can go every day if we want.

It does help keep them entertained and gives us somewhere to go!
