My DD is a fantastic eater or should I say was until yesterday. All of a sudden she refuses to let me or anyone else feed her.
I got the hint and started to just try and give her finger foods she can do it herself but shes not eating as much as I would like her too.
Did this happen to anyone else? I think shes getting top teeth. Is teething a cause for loss of appetite? I mean she clamps her mouth shut and shakes her head no.

She will however feed herself cheerios, crackers etc. But I need her to eat more fruits, and veggies, yogurt etc. Shes still drinking milk just fine and she loves the cup!

At what point should I call the doctor? Should I just keep trying to feed her? or quit and just give her finger foods? I need suggestions!

It must be the age. One of my guys is going through the same thing. He is cutting 2 teeth at the moment, but I think it is more of an independence thing for him. He will eat what he wants to - like fruits, but absolutely refuses anything else (veggies or meats which have never been his favorites anyway). He is still taking enough formula and other solids that I am not too worried. I figure I will just keep trying to feed him and hopefully he will eventually come around, or we will find enough other things he likes. Think he can survive on cheerios and fruit? :)

well we are 5 days older than your so it MUST be the age :)
I guess I have to remind myself at this point food is still just for practice. She has 2 bottom teeth, I think shes working on her top teeth as shes gnawing on everything in sight. Thats really what she wants the spoon for LOL

I would say it's probably the teething. Thankfully it's temporary .

I am in the same boat as you. I am hoping it passes soon. I am wasting so much formula b/c they are just not eating.

So interesting to see this post. My daughter has been rejecting most spoon-fed foods now for a week or so. She is all about the finger foods, though, no matter what they are. She is little miss independent though, so it's pretty clear to me that that is the issue :) Will your baby eat soft but solid sweet potatoes or zucchini, or soft pears? Mine love those foods and they're so soft.

Yep shes *funny its all the little women being independent* been loving the finger foods! this morning we had toast strips and cheese for breakfast.
For a snack we did banana chunks and graham crackers, and for dinner we did the little vienna sausages (cut in quarters) and pasta. Not exactly my idea of a "balanced diet" but hey with the refusal anything semi healthy that I can get her to eat is better than nothing!
Judging by the tickers it seems that during the 9th month its completely normal! :)
