My girls have arrived.......

on May 22nd.....37 weeks. I had to bring the girls into the world one week earlier than expected but they are doing good. My blood pressure was high, I had lots of swelling and the OB found protein in my urine.....possibly toxima (sp)....so I was told I needed to have a scheduled c-section the following day after visiting the doctor.

Katelyn Faith weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and was 18.5 inches long. Madelyn Grace weighed 4 lbs 10 oz and was 17.5 inches long. Katelyn came home with me after 4 days of being in the hospital in the room with me; no NICU needed for her. Madelyn was in the NICU for 5 days for observation. The first day she was given oxygen and was being fed through an IV. But by the 2nd day she was able to breath on her own and she was being bottle feed. Blood was found on her stool so she was switched to lactose formula.

It was tough leaving Madelyn in the hospital that extra day. But I knew she was in good hands. Katelyn and Madelyn are both doing great. I love my 2 bundles of joy.

Congratulations! It sounds like things went pretty well... I dread the possibility of leaving one or both babies in the hospital, but like you said they are in good hands while there... I am sure it is great to have them both home now!

Congratulations on your :itwins: . I love the names! I am naming my little girl Caitlin. I wanted to name her Caitlin Grace, but dh said no because he wanted her to have his oldest sisters middle name.
