my girls hardly ever potty, is this normal?

Now that they are potty trained they maybe use the potty 3 times a day total. I don't know if they just have really strong little bladders or what. How often do your 3 year olds use the potty?

I don't know if it just seems to me like they hardly ever go since I'm constantly in there.

Alice goes every 2-3 hours, she's up for about 13 hours a day, so I'd say she goes 5-6 times a day.

How much do they drink? I know on days when Alice drinks less, the pee is more concentrated (yay for being able to concentrate urine!) and she pees less. She's choosing to drink less, so she's peeing less often now.

my two are different. my dd can hold it forever and then she pees a lot! then my ds pees more frequently...

3 times a day seems almost too little.... but just depends on how much she can hold it I guess! Is the 3 times excluding the 1st pee of the morning and the last at night?

My 2, at 4, pee probably 6 or 7 times a day if you count first thing in the morning & right before bed.

Mine don't typically pee right when they wake up. They sleep with a pull-up on, and I think they pee in it right before they take it off. I'm not really sure, sometimes the pull-up is dry and other times it's wet, but it's never soaked, which makes me think they probably go 1 time during the night at some point. They weren't consistent enough with keeping their beds dry so I didn't want to go through the hassle of having to night train them while I'm pregnant. They really only pee once in the late morning (around 10 or so) and then I make them go before naps at 2, and then when I give them a bath they both go before their bath. They get a pull-up on again after their bath.

I need to pay more attention, they just go in there on their own and use the toilet and most of the time I don't even know they've gone until I look in the toilet and see the paper. They forget to flush a lot of the time.

It seems to me like they constantly drink. So far today they've had 2 cups of milk and a glass of water. Although they didn't actually finish any of their drinks.

My boys are like that. They hardly ever pee ! I noticed it when we would be out .. like at an amusement park .. or beach. I frequently use the restroom and am always asking them if they need to go while we're there .. and they usually answer "no". Not sure why but I wish I could go for that long without having to go ! :)

I would say both my DD and DS don't go a lot (to me, anyway, since I'm in the bathroom frequently)...I think they probably go 4-5 times a day.

Aimee - my girls are like yours... they hardly ever pee. They drink a ton of water so I'm not worried about hydration, but it is sort of weird how infrequently they go to the bathroom. They still sleep in diapers, which are wet every morning, so I think they pee right at wake up. Then once in the morning, once in the afternoon, once at dinnertime and maybe at bedtime. Three times a day is pretty typical for us (plus whatever happens at night).

I have to "highly encourage" one of my girls to go, I think the longest she's held it for was 17 hours??? Brought her into the pedi about it because I was concerned, I mean really, how is it even possible? But we talked about it, she didn't have any symptoms of a UTI at all (and there was *no way* I was going to be able to get her to pee in a cup, sitting on the toilet was a struggle, she practically had hysterics when I asked for that!), lots of changes at home (school, dance lessons, etc) and he said it was actually fairly common for little kids to hold their urine for long periods of time. Especially recently potty trained kids. They're so concentrated on holding it and not having an accident, that they have a hard time relaxing enough to go. So we're pretty much on a keep an eye on her and encourage but don't make it a power struggle situation.

I do however wake her up to pee before I go to bed, she's sleepy enough that I *know* she'll just go, and then I don't have to change sheets at 3am. I've also gotten to the point that I ask her to give me a reasonable try and if she doesn't go, no biggie. Then usually 5 minutes later, she'll tell me she has to go.

My girls go pretty often, but my son has always been able to hold it forever. He wouldn't even use the restroom for hours after he first woke up in the morning. It always concerned me, but he is still like this, so I assume it's just normal for him.

DS practically pees for fun, but DD can hold it for outrageous amounts of time. I think her record is something like 10 hours, and that's even drinking a lot! I don't know how she does it.
