I had my gorgeous babies this morning!

    My birth story! Well..theirs!.

I started timing contractions last night because I realized around 6 30 that they were getting a little bit more frequently, so I started timing them. Around 8:45 I called my dr and told him they were about every 15 minutes apart and they weren't too long in length but they were just as strong and i was feeling ALOT of pressure. I had told him I had noticed a little bit more discharge and that I personally thought I should come in and get checked because I knew some changes was being made.

My mom and I left, with my DH at him with DD so he could put her to bed. Well, on our way they went from 15 to 8 to 5 and 5 and 5 minutes apart. I didn't want to freak my mom out because it was snowing and i didn't want her to worry...so when we got here about 30 minutes later, i said ...hey, they have been 5 minutes apart since we left. So we got here and they did a fetal fibernetactamy i think..then she checked me.

i was a 4! and 75 % effaced and -2 station and she felt a bag of water! So they rushed me into a room and hooked me up on mag. to try and stop it. In an hour and half i went from 4-6/7! They said, uh...they are coming. I got an epi because the pain was getting intense and the epi was wonderful! They stopped the mag and let my body handle it. At about quarter after 1 my water broke and i was about a 8/9. I told her i was starting to feel pressure around 1:45 and they wheeled me into the OR at 1 :50 ( My dd was born at 1:50 pm) and at Caralyn Maewas born with about 9 total pushes and she was born at 2:05 weighing 4lbs 3 oz and 17 1/2 inches. She did great and scored well on her apgar test. Lilian Joy came (hand first like superman) at 2:19 and was 3lbs 10 oz and 16 1/2 inches. She did great as well.

I got to see them around 4 am and it was hard, because they are in the NICU. I cried alot..and asked to leave after a point. The Neonatalogist came in and talked to my DH,mom and I about them and how they were doing and how long they were going to stay. They are both doing great. Cara is on room air and they will try and start feedings later. Lily is on oxygen and they will try and wean her off later today and start feedings.

i'm scared, worried, happy excited...so many things. I need to start pumping when I get off. my DH took my camera home but I have plenty of pictures to show off soon! Yay!

Oh and the joke last night was the nurse gave me pitocin instead of magnesiam..because it did nothing with the contractions but make it come closer together.

Congratulations! I am sure your little girls are perfect! It is really good for me to hear stories like yours. I am currently at 30 weeks 2 days and I have been in the hospital for 3 weeks now for PTL/short cervix. They keep telling me they hope I can make it to 32 weeks. If it helps...I had a friend who gave birth to her daughter a couple of months ago at 31 weeks 6 days and her little girl only had to spend 12 days in the NICU and is doing VERY WELL now! Hang in there! I can't wait to see the pictures!

Wow! They are already bigger than my boys were when born at 33 weeks! Great job mama! The NICU is scary and was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I am a much stronger and compassionate person because of it. We were there for a month as grower feeders. It gets harder when they aren't hooked up to the machines because you just want them to be home so badly. Please visit the NICU forum if you want to get more support.

I posted this on a different board..so bear with me, but it has pictures!!

I will try and answer everyone's question while my mind is still...half way awake. I'm currently running on about 4 hours of sleep, so bear with me.

To answer the 'how am I feeling question?' I feel great. Honestly! I am up and walking around. I actually just walked myself to my room from the NICU and no dizziness or anything. I'm having a slight back ache from the epidural I got, which is normal, but it is slightly annoying. I am still cramping, which is normal, got to work those muscles back to normal. I'm tired, cause of 4 hours of sleep but I need to make this quick n short because i will be woken up at 12 to pump.

The babies should be out of the NICU around thier due date...but maybe sooner. I am praying for Christmas..so...pray with me. I would love to have them home for thier first Christmas!

Cara is def. more laid back, like she was in the womb. I got to hold her tonight and she kept getting these little smiles..TOO cute!! I held Lily earlier and she is my 'firecracker'. When one limb moves, they all do! She is doing great for being so small.

I am pretty sure they are fraternal because of thier size difference and thier looks, as you will see in the pictures i posted below. Cara looks like Ella in ways..and Lily looks like a little..mexican!

Here are a few pictures from earlier.
    This is Caralyn

    This is Lilian

I have more, but I do need sleep. I am pumping for them and I need to regain some energy because if I do it when I am tired, it doesn't do a whole lot of good.
