My girls are here!

So, I was scheduled for an induction this past thursday, but last Sun. night, my water broke!! I was so happy it happened on its own!

I went in around 2:30 am, got admitted, was having contractions, but they didn't hurt at all. They also weren't real regular or anything. So, they started me on pitocin at 7 am and that got things going! I pushed for 2 hours and Sofia was born first weighing 6 lbs 1 oz. at 3:21 pm. Very soon after came Maya at 3:24 pm weighing 4 lbs 8 oz.!

We were surprised at the size difference, but I have a feeling she probably stopped growing or something at 34 weeks, when I had my last growth scan (they were measuring the same). They are both doing well. Sofia has some jaundice that we are keeping an eye on, but I think it is getting better. Sofia is eating well. I was not happy I have to supplement w/ formula, but I will do whatever it takes to keep them healthy! So I'm very busy because I have to feed them every 3 hours and I offer the breast first, then formula, then pump. Very time consuming!!! But we are doing well. I'm just exhausted!

 

Congrats on your girls. I had to supplement for the first couple of weeks, but now we not not supplementing at all!!

congratulations!!!! so happy for you & your little arrivals, and glad that it got started on its own. sounds like sofia was looking out for her sister and knew it was time to exit. the jaundice isn't too spooky, once you get past the lights. we had our own little glow-worm for a week w/ my ds.
