my girls are here!

hello, all! my girls came last night! here's my story:

i decided to go vaginal. they induced me at 8am and by 3:45 i was in the O.R. trying to push out baby A. well, i pushed for 2 1/2 hours and pretty much threw in the towel (i'm not even going to get into the fact that this supposed "wonderful" epidural worked great until it was time to push!!! and they didn't turn it down, either, DH and i checked the machine to make sure!!! ). so they prepped me for a c-section, and it went great! baby A, Ivana, was born at 6:47pm,weighing 6lb1oz,and baby B, Marina, was born at 6:48pm, weighing 7lb. it turns out that ivana was face up and her head was turned, so doc said i could have pushed for 5 more hours and nothing may have happened, so me wussing out after 2 1/2 hours was a good thing! ANYway, they needed no NICU time, they are healthy and happy (Ivana's a bit of a drama queen), and we're working on breastfeeding and it's getting better everytime! i'm in pain, but i've gotten up a few times to go to the bathroom and walk around, so that my recovery will be easier and go faster. i don't have many pictures yet, but i'll post the two i have. once we get more pics online, i'll post them!

Congrats!! Your babies are adorable and it sounds like things went (relatively) smoothly. Great weights! Yeah for no NICU time! Be sure to take a little time to recover and take care of yourself. Do not overdo it right away. Let people help you. Never turn help down...you can pay them back later in life.

I also tried for a vaginal delivery but it just didn't work out and I ended up with a section. I was at least glad that I had tried. Your babies are beautiful and you look WAY better than I did! Congrats on your little sweeties.

Congrats!! Sorry your vaginal birth didn't work out...but glad everything came through okay. Sounds like you had a posterior baby...they can be challenging to push out, from what I've read it usually requires some unique pushing positions, which can be hard to do with an epidural. Hope you are recovering quickly and are enjoying those babies!!
