My girls are here!

    I thought I would post a quick birth story. I was set to be induced May 26th, but on the 23rd (37 weeks 4 days) at 2am I felt a weird more painful than usual contraction. After my second contraction I told my husband I thought something was up and in less than five minutes my water broke. We took off to the hospital and when I arrived I was already dialated to 5cm. Three hours later at my second check I was complete. I pushed for three hours, I was determined to have a vaginal birth, but finally my MD said it was time to stop. Apparently Baby A was hung up on my tail bone and was not progressing. I went in for a C-section and had them out within twenty minutes. The thing that suprised me most about the section was that some kind of weird nerve thing made me feel like I was having a heart attack as they were stiching me up. The babies are great. Two girls: Elise Claire - 5.8# and Maya Grace - 4.8#. They were both about a pound less than the prior ultrasound predicted. Both skipped the NICU. The only issue was mild Jaundice so they each had to where a bili blanket for about 24 hours. However, the day I bought them home Elise was crying from 11pm until 5am and had not had a BM for 26 hours. I ended up taking her to the ED, worst night of my life, she was okay though. Now I am just learning to juggle them and trying to grab sleep when I can. I'm lucky, my mom will be staying with me for four months, otherwise I would be a wreck!     Congratulations! Very cute names! Glad to hear they didn't get to be in ICU. Good luck with everything, and may they always be healthy and bring you joy!
