My boy has been rolling for a few weeks now, but my girl is content to stay wherever I put her! If I lay her on her back, she is happy to be where she is, and if I put her on her belly she cries, but makes no attempt to go anywhere. They were born at 36 weeks... would this explain it? Should I be worried? Or is she just more relaxed than her roly-poly brother?
    Thank you for any replies!

I wouldn't be too concerned yet. My Liam started rolling over over the last month and a half. They all move at their own pace. Try putting something out of her reach when she is laying down....she may just roll over trying to get it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Georgia did not start rolling over until about 6-7 months. She hated being on her tummy. Georgia the bigger of my twins, and she is about a month behind her sister in crawling and walking. They develop at their own pace.

I don't think you need to worry yet! You could try to coax her along by showing her how to do it though! Pull her onto her side and let her do the rest! Or put her on her tummy and show her how to put her arms so she doesn't get them stuck!

I wouldn't worry about it, my girls were born at 36 weeks and didn't roll over until 6 months. You probably should put her on her tummy as much as possible to get her used to it though. Good luck! :D

I wouldn't worry, they will do it when they are ready.

Sarah didn't roll until 8 months (she was sitting up on her own long before she rolled). She just had no interest in anything having to do with being on her tummy! If your DD is doing OK on her other milestones, I wouldn't worry about it.

My little Will started rolling around 6 months. John did not start rolling until 7 months or after. He is like yours where he was happy to just lie on his back. Be patient. It all happened in one day. He woke up and on his own just started rolling!! We worked with him a lot though. Have her lay on the floor with her head towards you and her feet away from you. Try and get her attention from above the top of his head. This will cause her to turn her head around and will be in the position to roll over. We did this lots and lots.

Don't worry, each child does things differently. Cute pix on your ticker by the way :)

Lorien rolled over at 4 months but Arwen didn't roll over until she was 8 months and she started crawling within a week or 2 of that. She did it when she was ready and so will yours ;) I know it's hard but be patient. If you think there is any real concern about it (like not meeting other milestones that should have been met by now) then it never hurts to put in a call to your ped but chances are your sweetie is just taking her sweet ole' time.

Neither or my guys are purposely rolling yet and they're just a couple of weeks younger than yours. James has done front to back by accident a few times (several weeks ago and then never again) and Evan shows no interest. I wonder if it's because I almost never let them lay on their backs (due to flat head issues).

My girls started rolling around 7.5-8 months consistently.

Mine show no interest either. I know Avery can do it but she won't. She doesn't like to be on her tummy and just gets mad and doesn't try to roll from that position and definitely doesn't want to go from her back to her tummy. Evan goes to PT so the therapist showed me some exercises to do with them but so far they aren't working. I think they just might need more time so I am trying to be patient but it is so hard.

Ava does it - Addison can but has only done it once - and neither of them are very "rolly" -
if I let them have tummy time - neither will roll to get anywhere, they will lay there and cry until I pick them up  !!
even in their crib - they are more likely to be standing up in the bed than to be rolled over on their tummys
and talk about a shock  ! they started pulling up in the bed a few weeks ago and since they don't even really roll I did not expect to walk in and have standing babies - is what Ava looked like!! plus my girls are so tiny so it looks really funny to see them standing!!

My DD is the same way! She can roll over, but she has always hated tummy time. The minute I put her on her tummy, she just rolls on to her back again. But for the last several days I've found her sleeping on her tummy...go figure. DS is a rolly polly, can hardly take my eyes off of him! I'm not worried....(not too much anyways...)

Thank you! I figure I won't get too concerned until their doctor starts to worry.
