My future is starting early

Everyone told me that when you have boys, your toilet(and the area around it) will become a mess and the older they get, the worse it will become.

My boys have been PT since last summer. Once they started to pee standing up, they would lift the seat, go, and then put it back down and flush.

FF to about a month ago. They no longer put the seat up and don't flush. Even when they have a BM, I have to remind them to flush the toilet. :bad:

My one DS who was OBSESSED with flushing the toilet could care less about it.

Just this morning I walked by the bathroom and seen my other DS going pee with the seat down. :BDH:

Just when I thought they were 100% PT, I now have to work on this. :gah:

 

I've heard that about boys too, about the toilet being messy. Honestly it's not a problem in my house! Every once in awhile there's a little pee on the side, but nothing like what I've heard. My two do forget to flush every so often, and I remember them going through a phase with it. Just be consistent and eventually they'll do it out of habit like the rest of us.

 

*groan* This is why I make my boys still sit down....it'll be awhile before they are allowed to stand up

 

Seriously, if I could find a place in our bathroom to install a urinal, I would. :grr: I spent this afternoon cleaning the bathroom and I was shocked with how much pee I found around the toilet base and on the back of the seat. :shok:

I am going back to square one and will teach and praise them when they lift the seat. Hopefully, it will stick this time.

 

It will be a long time before the boys stand up to pee. My husband is very tall. Just shy of 6 1/2 feet tall. For him it is easier to sit down at home or other places where there is no urinal. Laws of physics. If his pee hits the water from that height it will make a big mess. A mess he would prefer not to have to clean up every trip to the bathroom.

Makes toilet cleaning so much easier AND I never ever have to worry about finding the toilet seat up!!
