Well...Tomorrow night dh and I are going to the Billy Joel concert at Mohegan Sun casino(FREE-his uncle is a high roller and gets 4 free tickets to like EVERY show!). We saw Billy Joel a few years ago at the FleetCenter in Boston and had a great time. Anyways...

So we are leaving tomorrow by 1pm. We are going to go and gamble a bit, and then the concert is at 8 Pm. His mom is coming over first, then my mom will join her around 4:30pm and they will both spend the night at the house. We are not staying at the casino-but at a hotel less than 10 minutes away. I am looking forward to it in one sense...but I also dread it! It's going to be my first night away from them-and thinking about it makes me cry! 7.5 months isn't too bad to be having my first night away... Honestly-if it was 4 months ago-I'd be looking forward to it even more! But they are just in the greatest stage now-they are such little boys!

I'm sure when I get to sleep past 6 am..it will all be a distant memory!

Have fun! It sounds like they will be well taken care of by their grandmas! In most cases, grandparents are only 2nd to mama and daddy when it comes to love and care! It will be fun for everyone!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, my husband and I left them overnight with my aunt, (who is also an R.N.), when they were three weeks old. They have stayed overnight multiple occassions thereafter, and it's just really, really good and healthy to have that time alone with your husband. You, [we], NEED it...

Don't feel guilty, it's good for the kids to be around other people anyway! Perhaps I didn't feel as guilty because they boys are formula-fed; I probably would have been a lot more hesitant if they were breast-fed.

I hope you have a great time with your husband...any mom, especially of twins, DESERVES it!!!

Meaghan, that sounds like so much fun! I know I was so sad when I had to leave my babes for the first time {at 16 months} for overnight, it was hard. BUT once I got there I tried not to think of them too much and have a good time, and I did! :D You and your hubby deserve some fun time alone and you are leaving them with your mom and MIL, so I'm sure they'll be very well taken care of! I hope you guys have a blast seeing Billy Joel!

Maybe this may sound bad, but it isn't.

We went out of town for 3 nights in January...5hrs away. My mom and grandma were staying here with all 3 girls. The twins were 5 months old. I was sooooo afraid of leaving them for that long. I had such anxiety up til the day we left. I thought for sure I would just cry and be miserable without them.

Well, it turned out that I didn't miss them nearly as much as I thought I would. I did miss and was excited about seeing them the day we came home, but those three nights were with DH, and about 30 other adults. I had so much fun, and enjoyed the time away. It was much much needed. I knew that. I felt so refreshed when I got home. We haven't been away since, but I hope that DH and I can get a night here soon. I think it is needed again.

I love my girls to death and love having my family, but we all need that break.

You will have a blast and just know that they are in good hands. You can always call home a few times to make sure all is well!
