I have had women tell me their milk will letdown when they hear a baby cry. I must have heard one too many crying babes because that does not work for me. My emotions trigger my enexpected letdowns. Couple of examples here:
    1. A friend of mine went car shopping and I tagged along to help. Salesman was giving her the run around and I stepped in to try and make things clearer for him. He got pretty mad at me and started popping off to me and I got so mad, my milk letdown!
    2. I got to laughing so hard at a friend of mine the other day and, my milk let down!

There are other tales but, these are the 2 that stick out the most. How about y'all, what triggers your letdowns?

 Sorry.. I have never experienced let down except for when a baby was attached! I can't imagine in those situations!

I had a laughing letdown moment too lately. Just thinking about nursing causes me to letdown. . .

A crying baby never did it for me, either. Thinking about nursing did. I think the best let down trigger I have witnessed happened a few months ago when my friend brought her new baby to a parade with me and the bagpipes in the marching band triggered her let down :)

MY crying babies would do it - OR, if I was away from them and thought about them sometimes I would let-down. Car salesman have prompted a strong reaction from me before...but not a let-down.

That's so interesting, Annemarie! For me, only one of my babies crying would trigger a let-down.

Hmmm, there are only 3 things that trigger a let down for me. Babies latched on, pumping while looking at pictures of my babies, and the big O. ;) I have never let down for any other reason.

Wendy. I totally forgot about the big O! It does it to me everytime.

I just randomly let down for no particular reason that I can think of. Drives me crazy. I think any money we saved by having me breastfeed/pump has gone to purchase breast pads.

I have the random letdowns too, definitely the laughing one. And others I cant think of specifics but I do know that I have given that 'WTH look' to my sister about my letdowns.

Not hilarious at the grocery store!!! :p

Funny enough, now that I know it happens when thinking or talking about food, I try to remember to put pads in my bra before going grocery shopping. But whenever anyone asks if I breastfeed, my first thought is "why, am I leaking?"

I read this the other day and thought "hmm...that's never happened to me..." and then today it did! DH and I were arguing over the phone about some insurance snafu and there they went. Not to the point of leaking but I definitely started feeling full. I'm pumping now for relief and I haven't had to pump at work in months! I forgot how much I hate it!

When I was bfing the girls I only letdown while they were feeling and i didn't feel it every time. I don't think they stayed off me long enough to experience letdown any other time! now with this baby boy i have letdown when any of the children cries! it drives me crazy when it's not even the one that's bfing that's causing the letdown.
