My DS amazed me the other day!

Just wanted to share. We have 2 shape sorter boxes, one with primary colors and one with girl colors. We put all the shapes on the floor and next thing you know he had the correct colored shapes in the corresponding boxes. He doesn't even know his colors yet, but he knew which ones went in which box! He isn't talking much yet (about 15 words) and it worries me but he is so bright when it comes to other things. The kid understands everything. Anyway, jsut wanted to share!

Wow, that is awesome!! One of my girls had great receptive speech before she had much expressive speech, so I wouldn't worry too much!!

 

WOW how wonderful. My DS is like that also don't say much but seems to know a lot. My DD never quits talking maybe this is why DS don't or can't say much. Lol

 

What a smart boy! Definitely don't worry about the speech part as long as you know he is understanding and trying to communicate (whether it be with gestures, sounds, whatever). I just had my boys evaluated for ST and they didn't qualify due to the ONLY problem being speaking words. Their receptive speech is really high, they listen to and follow commands, and they try to communicate (make animal sounds for animals, other little noises or signs for things they want). Sounds like he is doing just fine...so don't worry!
