My delivery story...

    Hello all. I gave birth to Michael and Devin at 7:15 and 7:21 am on October 11, 2008. I was 36 weeks 5 days at that time. Michael weighed 4 pounds 13 ounces and Devin weighed 4 pounds 7 ounces. The birth was vaginal with an epidural. It went by so fast that it is very hard to remember exactly what happened. I didn't have to push but maybe 3 times for Michael and twice for Devin. I didn't have any stitches or anything-thank the Lord!

    Michael had a very low blood pressure and was taken to the Special Care Nursery for IV fluids which helped almost immediately. Devin had a low blood sugar which went away after starting food. They are identical and did have a slight case of TTTS which would have only gotten worse if I would have carried them longer. Michael lost some red blood cells to Devin. They talked about doing a transfusion, but didn't end up doing one while they were in the Special Care Nursery (9 days). I kinda wish they would have done one becasue a couple weeks later his hematocrit dropped so low that we had to go back in for a blood transfusion. He is much better and they both are doing very well now.

    My husband has been so wonderful during everything. He has been a very good daddy and a wonderful support person for all of those hormonal things that happen to us after delivery. It was very hard being discharged from the hospital without the babies and I don't know what I would've done without his hugs and support while I was crying. I am very thankful for such a wonderful man and daddy for our boys!

    This web site has been and will continue to be a wonderful support system also! Thank you to everyone who answered even my silliest questions while I was pregnant!

    YAY!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :birthday: SWEET BOYS!!!

    I am so glad that everyone is happy, healthy and safe at home now!!! and :bow2: YAY!!! for a great daddy!! that makes a BIG difference!!
