I feel foolish for asking this question but my problem seems to be getting worst. I have a 45 minute drive to work. By the time I get here I get out of the car and I can barley walk. The pain is in my butt. Kinda where the leg meets the butt, where it bends there. I sit at a desk all day. I try to get up at least every hour and boy every time I do my butt hurts and I have to limp it off again. I can feel it getting sore as I sit here now. On the weekends I have no problem, I guess because I am not sitting at a desk all day. I just wondered if anyone else has had or has this problem. This is my first pregnancy so I do not know what to expect but when I ask other friends who have had babies they look at me like I am crazy.

I have had this same problem as I too have a long drive to and from work. I also sit at a desk all day (with my feet elevated). Every hour or so I get up to walk around a bit and I feel almost crippled. It's in that hip/butt area, like they have cramped up almost. I didn't experience this with my first pregnancy. I have just been contributing to the fact that I'm short, only 5'2", and I'm carrying a lot of weight in the front now. If someone else actually knows why this happens, I'm all ears.

A few weeks ago my butt hurt so bad that I had to miss a day of work, I could barely walk! I only got it on my left side, but it hurt SO BAD I really couldn't walk. I tried getting in a pool to relax the muscle and putting ice on it, and neither of those helped. Then I tried a heating pad and that did the trick! I look funny lying on my side with a heating pad on my butt, but it works and I slept a few nights with the heating pad.

Count me in, I feel like my tailbone is totally bruised, and that's after only working 5 hours at a time, I can't imagine all day!!!

A co-worker suggested padded biker shorts, I don't know if they would help, but if the pain is going to continue, I may just break down.

Yep I was like this. For me, it got worse as time went on. And then I developed sciatica, then the hip pain, etc. etc. Twin pregnancy is certainly not the most comfortable thing that's for sure - but it's worth it in the end!

Yup, I notice that I have this problem too if I sit for too long. When I go to get up, my hips sometimes pop and it hurts like mad everytime. Makes me catch my breath that's for sure!

put a big pillow under your butt. My do not have a butt, so every time I am pregnant all the added weight really makes it hurt. Not sure how "safe" it is, but it helps. Kiesha

i have the same problem! i can't sit for too long cuz it makes my butt hurt. (but then, i can't STAND for too long, cuz i get tired. <_< ) i'm a little shocked, seeing as i have a bubble butt... you'd think the cushion would make it not hurt :p
