I knew my boys eating habits were strange, but SIL made me feel like they are weirdos. Here's the strange thing...I don't heat any food/formula (unless it's frozen). My two have always eaten their bottles at room temp. and when I make them ahead of time and put them in the fridge, they drink them cold. So when I made their cereals, I made it with cold formula. Now they eat their veggies cold too! Anyone else have "strange" eaters?

ETA: I've never forced them to eat something cold when they didn't want it...but they don't seem to care!

I don't think this is "weird" at all! It's just what you have gotten them accustomed too, and it's just fine! :)

My DD ALWAYS eats her bottles cold. She will not eat them warm. I make a batch every morning so she is used to the cold milk.

Everything was always room temp for us!

My older DD was exactly the same way and I LOVED it because she wasn't picky at all. Weird or not, I think it is great!

Mine usually get room temp bottles, but if they're made ahead of time or (gasp) left overs from before, they're fresh out of the fridge. My mother is horrified that I feed my children COLD bottles, but I have since we've come home from the hospital!

I also don't warm their baby food. Well, except some of the meats. They're just so gross, I figure warming them may make them better. They seem to prefer them warm, but eat them no matter how I dish them up. I just usually get some odd faces when I try them cold ;)!...

I agree, the less work the better!

Mine usually eat food cold or at room temp so I don't think its weird at all!

My mother freaked out the first time she saw me putting frozen pancakes on their plates. I'd started it as a teething remedy then saw no reason to quit when the tooth popped through because they loved them frozen. I also gave leftover veggies straight from the fridge. They'll eat warm food too but their definition of "too hot" is barely above room temperature and they really prefer food room temp or colder. I'm not sure if it's from getting them used to it, though. They were breastfed babies so their milk was always warm but they'll drink cold or warm beverages. I think most kids just aren't very fussy.

Not weird at all! They have room temp. formula or if I make them ahead of time, out of the fridge. My 85 year old MIL convinced my DH early on that they should be warmed. Since I was the one getting up in the middle of the night to feed them those bottles would come right out of the fridge. If DH helped, I would warm them up and he was not the wiser :winking0009:

DH now feeds them cold bottles. He has seen that they don't care either way.

I'm glad I am not the only one that feed leftover formula. That stuff is expensive and I'm not pouring it down the drain only for them to want to finish it an hour later.

mine don't seem to care if their baby food is warm or cold. They won't take bottles now, but when they did (they stopped taking them at 8 wks) they didn't care if they were warm or room temp ... they wouldn't take them cold. It is a GOOD thing =) At least you aren't always running around looking for a microwave!

Thanks Ladies! I do feel lucky. When they are hungry I don't have to listen to them cry/whine while I'm heating stuff up. So glad I'm not alone!

All of our bottles are room temp. It is how they were given them in the hospital.

Oh I wish my girls would drink it cold! I am trying to ween them slowly. The last thing I want to do is lug around a bottle warmer when we are out!!

I was wondering if people use left over formula. Some days the girls will drink all of their bottle and other days they drink a little and want a little more RIGHT AFTER I threw the other out.
