My boys are one!

My twins turned one last week! Unbelievable! We celebrated a little at home on the actual day of (since Grandma was visiting from CA) and then last night had their "official" party. It was a Veggie Tale Pirate theme, and I was very happy with how it all turned out. I did not want to go overboard, but still wanted it to be cute and special for them, and I think it was!

This year has been a challenging one in our family, but definitely full of many blessings! Adding twins to our brood wasn't as difficult as I anticipated. We've loved every minute of it (we'll, almost every minute...) and are so thankful for such good-natured babies! The twins, in and of themselves, haven't been the hardest part. Caring for 4 children under 4 has been a bit trickier. We do well, but we've had to really redefine how errands get run, outings get taken (or not taken), etc. And, when the twins were 6 months old we moved from CA to IL! A big transition for me, who lived in a LA suburb of Sunny SoCal all my life. However, aside from not finding a house yet, I do love it here, and am so thankful for all the blessings God has given us! We look forward to this next year and all the exciting adventures it will bring!
