my boys are here!

Yeah! My boys arrived on Friday, Sept. 14th (33wks 1day). I had made my first l&d visit on Wed. night due to strange discharge. I was having contractions and didn't even know it. I was 40% effaced but not even 1cm dilated. After two terb shots I went home. I was extremely uncomfortable on Thursday, but figured that's what happens when two babies are in there. By 2am Friday morning the pain had gotten so bad that I couldn't even lie down (which had been the only comfort I was able to get). I woke up DH who thought it was just the enchilada I had for dinner. After an hour or so, I called the dr and she said to wait until my contractions were 6 in one hour (I was up to 4-5). After I hung up, I went for another bathroom stop before trying to lie down again. After peeing, I went to stand up and my water gushed out! It didn't stop until I had my c-section! Oddly enough, that was the scariest part of the birth experience. We had a half hour drive to the hospital. By the time we arrived, my contractions were every 2-3 mins. I was still only 2 cm dilated, but one baby was tranverse and we knew a csection was what we wanted. I was prepped and ready to go by 8am. The spinal was heavenly! He put it in as I was having a contraction so I didn't even notice it. My anesthesiologist was great and talked me through the entire procedure.

Jacob Thomas was born at 8:29am (3lbs 11ozs) and Ryan Robert was born at 8:30am (3lbs 3ozs). They will be spending anywhere from a week to a month in NICU. I've been pumping and stuff is coming out, just not enough to feed them yet. So here I come NICU and BF forums! I'm sure I'll be on a lot checking on the rest of you who I've gotten to know on the site.
