My Boys are Here!

We have two boys!!! We decided to wait until they were born to find out the genders and it was so worth the wait!! So here's our whirlwind birth story.
Last thurs we had a regular ob apt (at 36 w 4 d) and nothing had changed in the last week...still not dilated at all and about 75% effaced. I had "early labor" signs all week (you know the ones that could mean the babies could be born tomorrow or two weeks from now) but no true labor signs. I was scheduled to be induced the following thurs at 37 w 4 d.
On Sat morning my husband and I woke up and planned on a busy day with our two year old, a nice big breakfast and a trip to the Children's Museum...a sort of last hurrah as a family of three. At about 9:00 am I got out of bed and went to the bathroom and peed a little more than usual. While my husband was starting to make breakfast I went potty again and "peed" a lot more. Five minutes later I was taking my husband's starbucks order for a coffee run when I felt like I was leaking a little more. I went to the bathroom and my undies looked like I completely peed my pants...which I obviously had not. So at 9:15 dh called my mil to come over to watch our 2 year old while we went off to the hospital. Immediately after my water broke (or when I realized it had) I started having contractions. On the way to the hospital at about 9:45 they were only about a minute apart.
We were taken immediately to an L&D room to get an iv started, etc. I made them immediately check me, and I was already at 7! One nurse commented that I would not be able to get an epidural!!! I started to yell at everyone that I needed something asap!! While they were trying to get an iv and waiting for anesthesia I was feeling tremendous pressure, and 10 minutes after the first check I was at a 9 and everyone was scrambling to get me into the or. As we were on the way to the or the anesthesiologist met us in the hall outside the or. In the or they were telling me to stop pushing while they put in the epidural, but my body had completely taked over and there was no stopping these babies!! Somehow the anesthesiologist managed to shoot something in my back (no time for an epidural) 5 minutes later Cooper John was born at 11:11 and weighed 6 lbs 10 oz. They immediately broke my second bag of water and 5 minutes later Liam Robert was born at 11:16 weighing 6 lbs 11 oz.
So in two hours, at 36 w 6 d my boys were born with no nicu time! It was a whirlwind, but everyone is healthy and we are all busy settling in at home!!

I love those fast birth stories!!! My sister had her second baby in 3 hours 1 minute...just one minute shy of being defined as 'precipitous.' LOL!!! Congratulations!
