My boy is breathing fast today

    Today he has been breathing faster than normal since this afternoon. However, he is healthy, no fever. I dont see anything wrong with him.I am not sure what is going on. His sister breaths normal though. If you know what it is please tell me. thanks

    How old is your son? And is he a preemie? I know our Brandon seemed to be a "rapid breather" when he was around 3-6 months old. I asked the pedi about it and I can't remember what she said, but basically he didn't have any other symptoms that might have spelled trouble, so she wasn't concerned. And eventually he started breathing at a normal rate. His rapid breathing also seemed to coincide with when he was diagnosed with reflux, but I"m not sure if the two were related or not.

    I don't have any idea what it could be, but, if it were me, I would just keep an eye on him & watch for any other symptoms.

    My twins were born at 32w1d. They are 38w1d today. He has been doing so well. Only today I noticed that. He had trouble pooping today. And i thought it was it. But he just had a big diaper. And he still doing it. I counted his breathing. It is just between 53 to 63,but his chest is moving up and down so hard. I called Nicu. They said I should call doc if his breath rate over 70 to 80.

    Good for you for checking with the NICU, especially since he's still so young & was a preemie. I hope it turns out to be nothing. :hug:
