I went to my normal 36 weeks 2 days ob visit on 7-5 @ 9:15am when the doctor walked in she said we had to talk serious because we were getting close to delivery. Well while she was talking she was also examning me. She quickly pulled hee hand back and said you are 5 cm you have to go to the hospital you are going to have these babies today. I started crying I was so happy the pain was going to be over. DH tells her she can't wait until Saturday. (7-7-07) She said no she is 5 cm and I feel the head she can labor and see how long that last or we can do a c-section tonight.

We headed to the hospital 2 blocks away and we get settled in at 9:30am. We had an ultrasound at 11am to check the position of the babies and they were both vertex! The u/s showed baby A to weigh 6 lbs. even and baby B to weigh 5lbs 5 oz. So I wanted to go ahead and have a vaginal delivery. I had 3 contractions not too bad when my epidural was ordered and give to me at 11:30. 12:30 my doctor comes in and breaks baby A's water.

At 3:30 the nurse checks me and I am at 8 cm. Then at 4:00 I was on the phone calling everyone to let them know we were having the babies. When DH asked if I heard the monitor change. I said no and the nurse walked in. She said she was having trouble picking up baby B' heartbeat. She tried to adjust the monitors and it didn't work so I was told to turn on all fours. Then she pushed the nurses button and called for nurses assistance STAT. Nothing was working. The next thing you know 5 nurses are running in and they start unplugging all of the machines and start to run down the hall with me. I thought I was going to have to hurry and push them out.

WRONG! As they were putting me on the operating table they start rubbing something cold on my stomach and I realised what was happening. EMERGENCY C-SECTION! :icon_eek: I got really scared. Then they put the blue paper sheet over my face they were moving so fast. I was freaked out. The nurse asked do you feel anything and I said yes someone is pinching me 4 times and she screams gas her we don't have time to wait. They told me to take 4 deep breaths and I would fall asleep. Nope I was still awake. Then the nurse says put her under now! They gave me a shot in my IV and the guy said it is going to burn. Well it did and 1 second later I was out. I was cut from hip to hip. UGH it hurts so bad.

:birthday: At 4:18pm Caitlin Marie 6lbs. even 17 1/4 inches was born and then (3 seconds) later :birthday: Vincent was born 3lbs. 11 oz. 17 1/2 inches long.

I woke up at 6pm in recovery and they tell me your baby girl is 6lb.s but your baby boy is very tiny and he is in the NICU. I was so upset I could not believe it. DH walks up and was showing me pictures of the baby girl. She was beautiful. They brought me back to my room and then Caitlin came in. It was so wonderful to hold her. I then was told that Vincent was only 3lb.s 11oz's.

Vincent was on oxygen for 20 minutes when he pulled the tubes out! Then the next day he pulled the IV out of his arm. So he became a feeder from that point on. He got out of the isolet (sp?) Tuesday @ 9am.
I just got a call Vincent is coming home tomorrow!!!!!! :yahoo: :clapping:

Here are pics of my angels!

wow...what a dramatic story!! Thank God that vincent was fine. Although they must've been very surprised that he wound up so much smaller than estimated!! You know, it's crazy, but they always had a hard time finding one or the other of my kids' hbs... I wonder if they noticed his hb had decelerated before they lost it, or if they just suddenly lost it... I guess you'll never really know. But in the end the important thing is that your babies are both healthy!!
