My birth story-finally

So on Sept. 21st I went to the dr and I was 1 cm dilated-I was so excited that progress was being made! That night @ 10:00 I lost my mucuos plug and @ 6:00 the next morning I felt my water break...so off to L&D we went and I was admitted to the hospital. This was all around 7:30 that morning. I was 36 weeks prego.
I was put on pitocin and nothing was really happening, so hours later my dr came in and broke the rest of my water and WOW the contractions really kicked in! I dealt with it for an hr and then got an epidural...so much better-
But unfortunatley I was not dilating quickly enough and had only hit 4 cm by 7:30 that night...we decided to go for the c-section b/c the dr was concerned about my uterus being lazy b/c it was so big and about possibly hemorraghing due to the size as well.
So around 8:45 they wheeled me into the OR and by 9:11 and 9:12 my 2 little girls were born-Ashley Nicole and Brianna Rose-we were totally shocked by their sexes and my DH was able to stand up and annouce to everyone what they were. It was incredible and then due to the long day and all the meds-I was fast asleep...My girls got to hang out with their dad for an hr next to me in recovery-while I slept and then they went right up to the nursery which was such a relief! They are 2 little blessings for sure!
I spent 7 hrs in recovery and then went up to my room. The recovery was tougher than I thought, but I am feeling better each day and we are enjoying our time with the girls. It is a BIG blur of bottles and diaper changes at night and of course lots of sleeping during the day!
