    Hi everyone,
Well my girls have arrived totally unexpected, the night of my 33 week appointment I went to the washroom at midnight, and as I walked out of the bathroom, it felt like I peed my pants, I thought it was weird, but hey all these weird things happen when you are pregnant with twins. So I turned the light on to change my underwear, and the water was pink. but there was so little that I really did not know what to do. The hospital I was supposed to deliver is an hour away, and we have an other hospital about 5 min away (its just not very good) so my husband suggest we go there just to make sure it actually is my water and nothing else. So I change and every time I moved from sitting to standing position, I would get another little gush. So we decide to bring my son the my MIL and head for the hospital an hour awy. We get there around 1:00 am and first they affirm that it was actually my water that broke, in the mean time the contractions have started about 10 min apart. So the doctor on call decided he was not going to take the cerclage out yet, and hope that labour would stop, and try to wait till 8:00 till my own ob came in. Bwteen 4 - 6 the contractions were getting very close, and also very painful, and I did not want to take anything, since I did'nt know what the ob wanted to do. at 6 they got a little better, easy enough to handle, but not easy enough to get some sleep in. By 8:00 my ob came in, and decided it was to risky to leave the cerclage in at this point, MY BABIES WERE GOING TO BE BORN TODAY!!!!!!!!!!. I laboured till 2:30 and really for nothing, because the cerclage was still holding everything together, finally the ob had time (he had 2 emerg. c-sections, and a delivery in the mean time) to take the cerclage out.
2:30 they wheeled me to a procedure room to take the stitch out (which did not hurt at all) and while he was feeling how far I would dilate, I dilated from nothing to 4 to 5 to 6 to 7 cm, so without further ado, they wheeled me across the hall for a c-section (since twin b was breech and according to ultrasound 1 1 /2 lbs heavier.
The actual c-section was absolutely horrible, since the spinal did not take all the way in the left side ( which is another long story)
anyway, Twin a - Haylee Hendrika was born at 3:34 pm on November 22, weighing 4lbs and 5 1/2 oz, and Twin B Hope Johanna was bon at 3:35 weighing 4 lbs and 14 oz. They are named after both mothers who are just thrilled. They are doing great,Hope was on oxygin for about12 hours and that is it. They are getting tube fed, every 3 hours, and they are tolerating their feeds perfectly. They have already stepped down from the highest nicu to lowest level (I don't know exactly how that works) As soon as they are on full feeds, which will hopefully be in a couple days, their IVs will come out.
    We truly have been blessed.
OH, and did I mention, that they are the cutest girls I have ever seen!!!! I could just snuggle with them all day.
I came home last night, and we have no idea how long the girls have to stay, but they are receiving great care, and although it hurts to leave them I would not feel comfortable to have them home right now.
I will post pictures as soon as I can.

What a great success story - after you struggles early on to make it 33 weeks. Here's to a short and uneventful Nicu stay. I hope you are able to post pictures soon!

Wow, how unexpected! I'm so impressed at the strenth of the cerclage that it was able to hold it together when you would otherwise have been dilated to 7! Too bad you had to go through the labor pains only to have a crummy c/s....
but, Congratulations! I'm SO glad to hear how healthy your babies are; I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow! I don't think my girls will be anywhere near that big, though, HOLY COW!
You are blessed! Can't wait to see pics! [IMG] [IMG]

Congrats to you and your entire family! I delivered my twins via C Section at 33 weeks 1 day. I'm sorry your C Section wasn't as smooth as you would have liked. Enjoy your new additions!

Also, I was able to take my twins home 2 weeks after they were born. I hope you have them home soon.
