Well I had them Friday!! At our u/s on Friday, the fluid levels were extremely off... the tech said anything over 9cm on one side was enough to have them delivered that day, we had one pocket at 9, one at 10 and one at 12! They sent us to the hospital and I was prepped and off to the delivery room at 2. I was panicky as soon as they put the IV in...I was so scared. And then walking into the delivery room without Jay next to me was really scary. Everything went great and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Even the spinal block wasn't as bad as I thought. The only thing I was really worried about was that when they were doing the spinal my back was to the door and my butt was hanging out!!! That and since our hospital is a teaching hospital there were about 5 young people in the room (my age) and I just get uncomfortable about them seeing me in the buff.... I dunno....I'm just being silly I guess.

So as soon as Jay was with me, everything was fine. I asked my nurse if they were starting the catheder yet and she said "Hun, your stomach is open they are getting ready to go through the uterus" I was amazed. It went so fast!! Austin was born at 2:23 and weighed 5lbs 11 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. When they brought him to me, I swear I have never felt that kind of love before in my life. Then Peyton was born at 2:25 and weighed 6lbs. 1 oz and was 19 inches long. Both were extremely healthy and spent the entire 3 hours in recovery with me and I was able to nurse them both right away. I was in recovery a little longer than planned, but only because I was light headed... nothing serious.

So nursing lasted about 3 days. In that time both my nipples were raw. I was unsucessful with tandem nursing despite several tries and so I was feeding them one at a time. I had NO sleep!! So finally I broke down and sobbed to my mother and Jay and I decided not to continue nursing. The hardest thing for me has been that they both latched on really well.... but.... We came home on Tuesday and things have been great.... Well babies are cryin g......
    Pictures to follow.... I promise!!!

Thats for everything girls! See you in the First year!!

Congrats on your boys! Your birth story somewhat resembles mine with having the emergency c-section and then not knowing that they started...I asked when they were going to start and they said the babies were about to be born....it was crazy and fast!

    Enjoy your little guys!

congrats!!! ditto on the advice to not beat yourself up over the bf... It's not as natural or as easy for some women as other women profess.... and the nice thing is that if you know you will have another child, there still might be an opportunity in the future to give it a shot if you'd like to experience it. I had a rough time nursing all three of my kiddies...it was never easy for me....and I know the guilt cycle... believe me there can be some advantages to just giving it up, grieving it and moving on. There were plenty of times when I WISHED I had done that... There are lots of nice things about bottle feeding too... I'm so incredibly glad that I got to experience this with my kiddies too... there is something so special about being able to look right into their face and get a warm smile from them while they have their "ba-ba" hanging in their mouth... I felt like I could bond in a different, but equally special way by bottle feeding my kids...almost made me feel more loved by them, b/c I knew they wanted "me" and not just my bbs!!! LOL... I'm going to give bf a shot this time around, and I do hope it works out better than my other experiences...but part of me thinks I'll probably miss bottle feeding too.

Congratulations!! Thanks so much for sharing your story with us ... what great weights your boys had. Also, I loved hearing how you didn't even know they had started the C-Section since I'm probably having one too. Hope you're all getting settled in nicely!

I can't wait to see pics. From reading your story I am less scared now if I have to have a c section. Apparently it is a breeze. LOL. I wish vaginal delivery was like that. But I assume the recovery is a stinker. CONGRATS>CONGRATS>CONGRATS

Congratulations on the birth of your twins! I'm glad everything went so well. :) Are you stuck on the pump now? I did that for 8 months and it was really hard but worth it. Congrats again!
