My beautiful baby girls are here!

Hi Everyone!! After being told on last Monday morning at an NST that I would probably go into labor soon, and after a lot of posting questions this week, LOL, my babies arrived on Friday night. Here's our story,

I had an NST schedule for 9am Friday and was anxiously awaiting it after having a lot of cramping and a bad backache the night before. While hooked up to the monitors I was having a lot of strong contractions that I could feel very low in my pelvis so they checked me and I was 4cm and 90% effaced. My OB made the decision to break Melanie's bag of waters and things went quick after that! The contractions were horribly intense, coming both hard and fast so I had an epidural (wonderful!) and was able to rest while I dilated to 10cm.

I started pushing at 5pm in my birthing suite and once Melanie was far enough down the birth canal we were moved into the c-section room where we had the full staff!!! I was their only patient for the night (rare, but lucky!!) so we had about 12 people in the room to help with the delivery. I pushed Melanie out at 7:13pm and only had a couple minutes to rest before Amelia started decending feet first. She was delivered breech at 7:17pm and what an experience to deliver one head first followed by another feet first! It was a tough delivery, but the nurses told me 2 hrs of pushing isn't bad at all.

Melanie was 5lb, 12 oz and had a hard time breathing so she got put on oxygen for just a little bit, her BP was a little low so they gave her some fluids and that helped. She's on an IV for her first 48 hrs and some monitors to keep an eye on her, but she is doing great. She's taking the breast a little at a time in between naps. Amelia came out perfect, 6lb, 1oz, and was breathing great on her own. She is having a little problem keeping her milk down, but they said it's due to her being delivered breech and has been improving with each feeding.

Landon and I are doing great and couldn't be more in love with our two adorable girls. We're a little tired, but are so happy that both girls are doing so well. Here's some pics! :yahoo:

Congratulations, they are beautiful!!! You look great too, I looked like a big fat pale whale after I delivered. I almost cried when I read your birth story, it is the most amazing experience and you will never forget it. Take care of yourself and take all the help you can get, don't try to do it all yourself you will have plenty of time for that later.
