My baby wasn't so cute at first

Some of you will be horrified that I could even think this, but, well, my AJ was not an attractive baby at first. In fact, he was rather homely... :blush: (Benjamin, on the other hand, was born cute and is still cute - he is my little elf baby! )

But, AJ has grown into a beautiful boy!! I took some pics today, and, when I downloaded them, I looked through some of the boys' newborn pictures. I thought, this cannot be the same baby!! In the beginning, he had a wizened old man look, but now, he is a pudgy cherub with luminous eyes! The change is so drastic - I had to share!

LOL so funny! When I was pregnant I used to tell people that if my babies were ugly, it would be ok and I would know and it would save them from the obligatory "they're so cute comments" and everyone thought I was a mean person. So I find it hillarious that I'm not the only one.

I gotta admit I was morbidly curious what your "not attractive" baby would look like. He looked a little wrinkly, but he was not the Quasimoto I was expecting He actually looked fairly average.

But...he is quite the looker now, just perfect. Congratulations on your beautiful baby!

You are definitely not alone in your thoughts. I was worried people would think one of my girls was a boy, because she definitely had that old man look to her!!

DD3 started her life resembling Winston Churchill - or so my DH kept saying, so you are definitely not alone.

I confess to having similar thoughts about one of my DDs as a newborn - now I think the is the cutest - but I won't name any names

 

teehee. . .my son looked like an old man when he was first born, and even up until 3 months. Friar hair do and all. Now he's such a handsome little man. (My husband won't allow me to use the term "pretty" or "beautiful" with him. Boys!)

I had the same thoughts about my DS when he was born. :blush: But now I think he's the most handsome little man.

They are all sweetie pies! It is amazing how quickly the proportions fill out and they become cute.
I just met my new nephew over the weekend, and if I didn't know that his brother is so handsome, I would worry for the little thing!

 

You are too funny! Whenever I look at old pictures of the boys I think Jeez! Why didn't I know how sickly they looked?! I really thought they were just the most beautiful babies ever born. I must have really been in a fog cause DANG those were some wierd looking babies! Yours are beautiful (now AND then).

I thought the same thing about both of mine -- they were definitely challenged in the looks arena early on. Now, of course I think they're the most beautiful babies ever.

 

All you children are precious! My little guy looked like a little old man at first too...that has changed, now I cant get enough of his flirty smiles and chubby cheeks! They change so fast, dont they?

:lol: My friend is a nurse in the L&D at a hospital she has said rarely are babies "cute" or "pretty" when they are born. They all look like little ole grandpa people, except for really big babies who have grown into their skin 8lbs and up

 

It's amazing how much they change

:laughing: We were just tlaking about that last night at a ladies night I was at. How dh and I looked back at pictures of our 1st dd and was saying, I remember her being a lot cuter than that!

 

OMGosh they are too cute! When my girls were newborns one looked like a little baby monkey and the other an old man. Now they are both adorable little girls, but back then they were funny looking tiny babies (who were cute in their own way).

 

DH was afraid that DS had progeria! he seriously had the wrinkled forehead and all (of course at 4.5 lbs at birth he had some growin' into himself to do!)

OMG, I LOVE MOTHER'S THAT SEE THEIR BABIES FOR WHAT THEY REALLY ARE! Haha.

He is definitely cute as a button now!!! (I can't believe I just typed 'cute as a button')

Not but for real, how refreshing- I'm not horrified. My little ones looked like aliens! And now are beautiful! Haha, that's great though. right on, honest mom.

 

its a horrible thing for a mother to say, but;
when my AJ first arrived I remembered thinking 'what is that!' ...only two months on, both boys are so handsome.

 

When I first held Aiden after my CSection, I flipped! Here I thought all CSection babies looked perfect....and Conner did! My Doc had to explain that b/c they were twins & b/c Aiden was SO jammed up in my ribcage that he just needed to 'shape out a bit'. Yikes, did he! His head was all lumpy, his nose was turned sideways, & he was actually compared to the "Baby Grinch" in the Jim Carrey version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". He also had a very obvious 'stork bite' on his forehead that worsened when he cried (which he did a lot). It didn't help that Conner came out gorgeous.....

And, of course, now I think he's super cute !

I was a bit shocked when I saw the older pic because in tthat position AJ looks A LOT like my son Kohbi!!!! So of course I think he's absolutely gorgeous
