My baby girls are here!

I was admitted to hosp on Friday, Oct 19 for high BP. I was having quite a bit of uterine activity. Doc said he would induce me next day. He held me of till Tues because of staffing shortages and I wasn't in an emergency situation yet. Tues he inserted Cervadil and said nothing would probably happen till next day when he would put me on drip. By afternoon, I was having contrax every minute and a half, very strong. Nurse said they are just pit pains, from pitocin. They are too regular and short to be doing anything. soon after, they slowed down and didn't hurt as much. DH and DD and my mom came to visit me that night and I was still having some contrax but nurse said nothing would be happening till morning. I told everyone to go home and I would call them in the morning. I watched Dancing with the stars and at 11 pm was about to get up to pee and thought I would wait till contrax was over and felt a pop. Water broke!! I called the nurse and she said to call DH (1 hour away). I did and was quickly moved to delivery room. They were trying to insert IV when I started screaming "I'm pushing!!". they rushed me down the hall to OR saying breathe!I was trying so hard not to push. As soon as we got there I was pushing, I looked down and the doc didn't even have scrubs on!. Anyway, Baby A (Kiera Elizabeth) came out fairly easily at 11:49pm weighing 5 lbs 15 oz. 17 3/4 inches long. (no hubby yet!!) Docs looked and felt and said next baby is head down, contrax started up again right away and I saw the clock and realized it was ticking towards midnight! I said Oh no these babies can't have a different b-day! So next contrax I pushed out baby B (Kamryn Ann) she weighed 6 lbs, 6 oz and was 18 inches long born at 11:59:58!!! Still no hubby!! they didn't let me see the babies right away, they had them at the warming table, I think the little things were in as much shock as me! Anyway, they were good, Daddy showed up a few minutes later to a big surprise! I was so happy that I was done already!! We are all well, everyone who heard about it at the hosp had a commnet about how amazing it was, the doc who delivered me was only a resident! I went ahead and did it without waiting for anybody!! No time for pain meds either. I had a lot of tearing and My uterine muscles are really sore but the girls are nursing really well. Kamryn had a lot of bruising on her face but it's fading really fast. We got home yesterday (thank goodness) We are all so happy, DH is as proud as punch and my mom is here to help. It was an amazing experience!

To post pictures, you have to upload them to a site like photobucket, I used Costco for mine. Then you want to copy the link or properties of them, if you are on the picture, right click and then click on properties and copy that. Then you can click on the green + icon at the top (when typing out a post) and paste the link in there, click ok, and then it will let you give it a name, like picture of babies. If that doesn't make sense PM me and I can help you out more.

My daughter was one if those "party poppers" as well. Arrived at the hospital at 8 and at half past 9 there she was. My birthing pool was still filling up when she had already made her appearance.

Congratulations on your new arrivals. My mum and I were just talking about the whole midnight thing and talking about if I had one before midnight and the other one after which would make them have two bdays lol. Glad to see you made it both on the same day.

I've heard of twins born in different years!! One on the last day of december and the other on January 1st past midnight!! Talk about the confusion that would probably go on for social security...tax breaks... insurance!! oh my goodness!! LOL! congrats!! what a nice easy delivery you got!!

 

Wow, what an awesome birth story! I cant' believe they came so fast. I'm sorry to hear that DH had to miss the whole thing. Glad they didn't have 2 different birthdays...lol!! Good for you for getting Baby B here under the wire of the ticking clock...lol! Can't wait to see pics...congrats!
