My Baby Girls are here!

My girls were born today, after some unfavorable testing, the docs felt it was best. It all happened very quickly and I will write a birth story later. Danielle Victoria (baby A, the little one) was born at 1:59 pm, weighing 2lb 1oz and Julia Nicole (baby B) was born at 2:00, weighing 2lb 10oz. Both babies were intubated, received surfactant and are doing well in the NICU.

Love those names!! Congratulations! I'm so, so glad they watched you carefully and got those babies out at a good time! you did a great job keeping those babies in! Now let's watch Danielle kick some butt in the weight gain department!! She'll show those perinatologists a thing or two about predicting life versus death!! How wonderful that you made it so far and your girls really are at good weights...over 2 pounds is a good thing. hope their NICU stay is short and smooth sailing!!

I am sorry to hear delivery was the only option but I am soo glad they are doing well, they look great Momma! Please keep checking in as you can, we will continue to keep thinking of you and your family!

I am so relieved to hear that your babies arrived safely. I am sorry that you have a long haul at the NICU. My girls were there for 9 days and that was too long. I will be sending lots of P&PT for an uncomplicated stay and that they are home with you soon. Do you plan to transfer them to Newton Wellesley's SCN when they are ready? I'd be happy to give you the scoop. After getting past the frustration of having my girls there in the first place, they did a good job.

 

Congrats mama!! They look like really healthy baby girls!!! The NICU can be a rough experience and a long haul. Just take it one day at time and dont forget, mama needs time too...

Glad to hear they are doing well in the NICU. Hope your recovery goes well. My son was born premmie and i know having them in there can be hard, remember they are in great hands and try and allow yourself this time to recover if you can. I tried to visit them as often as possible, but took the rest of the time to rest up for when they came home.
