my baby girl is here!

My little girl decided to make her debut about 3 weeks early...on the day we were driving half way across the country to our new home. I literally had to stop along the way to deliver her. I guess the excitement of packing and the move kicked things into motion a little early! I was driving my twins when the contractions started, and a few hours into the trip, they were 5 minutes apart. I called my OB and she told me I better find a hospital along the way! Luckily we were only about an hour away from my sister's house so I just kept my fingers crossed and tried to make it. I went straight to the hospital near her house and had my baby about 3 hours later...luckily for all of us you didn't read about some crazy woman delivering her baby on the side of route 81 while her toddler twins watched from the back seat :shok:

The hospital was nice and my daughter was able to come home with me two days later so I was really happy about the whole experience. My sister watched my kids for a few days while I was in the hospital and most of our family was able to get there to see us so it may have been better that it happened on the road instead of so far away in our new town. The bad thing was that my DH was still at our old house fixing things up (it's on the market right now) when the contractions started and I had already driven about 400 miles that day...so by the time I called him, it was too late for him to make it to the hospital. He got there a few hours later (don't think he even stopped to use the bathroom the whole ride!) so my mom came in with me while I delivered.

New house, new state, new baby...life's been busy to say the least!!

 

holy crap!! that is crazy. :blink: i'm glad we didn't read about you delivering on the side of the road. :laughing:

My husband is starting a 2 month job that is about 1 hr. away from home and he mentioned that the other day. I never felt any other of the ctx with the twins even after my water broke, then I had a c-section, so i have no idea how far along i was in labor, but this may be quick. I told him I would try to give him the best heads up I could....
