So I went in for my growth ultrasound yesterday, and I was excited to hear the babies were both over 2 pounds. Baby A was measuring 2 pounds 5 ounces and Baby B measuring 2 pounds 4 ounces! The doc confirmed they are both still girls. But then, this morning, I compared those weights to the averages in the sticky, and my babies are bigger than the largest babies listed for 25 weeks! When my son was born he was 8 pounds 7 ounces, and he came 2 weeks early. I figured for sure these babies would be smaller than him, but maybe not.

Hi there, I am 28 weeks 1 day and at my growth scan at 20 weeks, my baby boy was 1lb 3 oz and my baby girl was 1lb 2 oz. By the 26th week growth scan, baby boy was 2lbs 6oz and baby girl was 2lbs 3oz.

My high risk ob said they are growing great and ahead of the curve! So be thrilled that you did such a good job getting their weights up early :) I know I am! Pretty soon we wont be able to fill our tummies as well because the babies are pushing our stomachs up.

Big is healthy :) Hope you are feeling well -jillian

Yes, mainly I was thrilled they were so big! I was actually a little worried because a week and a half ago, when they measured my uterus, it was only measuring 1 week ahead, so I figured the babies were tiny. I am glad they are big! The other great thing is my blood pressure dropped, and I have been feeling very good.

At 26 weeks, my boys were 2lbs 11oz EACH! They are big boys! I actualy was relieved--I've only gained about 3 lbs myself, despite eating as much as I possibly can stomach, so I am so pleased to know that they are growing strong and big, even if I am the incredible shrinking preggo lady!

Doesn't sound too bad- mine were 2lbs 10 ozs and 2 lbs 8ozs at 28 weeks. My doc made me laugh because he said that twins will drop behind singletons as far as weight should go, he thought they were small, but for some reason he thought I was 29 weeks- I reminded him I was only at 28 weeks, he said nevermind then, they are doing great!

It's big. My twins were 2lbs5oz and 2lbs4oz at 26 weeks (that's measuring 2 weeks ahead). At 30 weeks they were lower 4lbs range and at 34 weeks they were lower 6lbs range. They were born 12 days early, average singleton weights, 7lbs11oz and 7lbs10oz. They basically were growing at the same rate their sister did. She was born 9 days late, 9lbs2oz and almost 22 inches tall.

U/s can be off by 15%. Quite a few women on this board were told to have big twins, but they didn't turn out that big. My friend delivered at 37 1/2 weeks, supposed to be 6/7lbs twins. One was upper 4lbs range, the other lower 5lbs range. They did come home thanks to their gestational age.

But since you had a big child before ... the u/s could very well be right!!! But yes, they do measure ahead. Keep them growing!!!

twins tend to grow faster in the second trimester and then start to slow down in the third trimester...my first dd was 8lbs 1oz...and I thought for sure my twins would hit over 6lbs...maybe 6.5 lbs... But they were both under 6lbs ....little peanuts compared to my first dd!!
