My babies came early!

Tuesday night at 31w 4d my twins made a surprise appearance! My water broke in the morning and by evening I was having contractions that meds would not stop. It was a pretty easy labor only 6 hours and I had them vaginally with the help of an epidural. I had a little boy 4lb 4oz and a little girl 3lb 10oz.

They are both doing great, but are in the NICU on CPAPs. He isn't getting much oxygen and taking feedings real well. She is on a little more oxygen and they had to stop feedings for a bit because her tummy couldn't handle it yet.

you should have a speedy recovery with such an easy delivery... congratulations, and now you can focus fully on your little ones... i wanted so bad to have mine vaginally...

 

Congratulations! I am glad to hear they are soo big! I am worried that I wont make it till Turkey day and have been stressing out. Can you tell me more about how your last weeks were contractions wise or any effacing?? I pray your babies can start feeding on their own and breathing on their own!

I had not had any problems or indicators that they were coming until that morning when my water started leaking. I never felt any contractions before Tues evening, not even Braxton Hicks.

They are both still doing great, I'm working on getting my milk in and learning to handle the NICU.

Wow, really? That is so strange! I am glad they are doing reat. How is the NICU anyway? Seems kinda scary. Best wishes to you and those wonderful babies!
