My babies at 7 1/2 Months

Hi All,

Firstly I wanted to thank all you guys for your wonderful questions and responses on this forum.

I dont have a great deal of time to write too much, but I do get on a few times a week and browse. I have found so many answers to my questions.

Following is a picture of my babies. I hear so many mixed comments about them being identical or not. We know they are forsure identical, as they shared a placenta. However, I kind of agree that they dont really look alike. Is it possible they are identical and dont look alike?

I actually think they look very much alike !

But I know where you are coming from though, my girls shared a placenta as well and sometimes I do wonder if they really are identical. But it's strange, they are 11 months old now and I think they almost go through phases. Sometimes they look eerily like each other and other days not. I think it may just be the mothers eye. Strangers can never tell mine apart.

 

I think they look identical and are total cuties! :wub:

 

They look a lot alike, it's just the shape of their faces that are different exactly like my boys.

They do look a lot a like but like pp said just the shape of there face is different, I don't know if identical means absolutly identical or not, I always thought my boys were fraternal and everyone just wasn't looking at them good enough when they'd say oh how do you tell them apart, but now that I posted there picture on here and some other people have asked it has got me wondering too.....

Do you know how much it costs to get them tested?

Yours look as identical as mine do. There are differences but they still look alike. If you know what I mean. They are awfully sweet though!!!!!

 

Oh they are so cute! And they look identical to me! As the mom you see all their little differences way more than anyone else. What beauties!

your girls are adorable. They do look id to me but you can tell they have different head shapes. My girls are the same way. They are id but people can tell them apart by their head shapes. Mine girls still have the same eyes and nose and mouth. Their ears are a little different. Same shape but one has thicker ears and one has thinner ears that stick out more. One of my girls has a double crown also. As you can tell mine are id but they have lots of differences. And again your girls are precious.

Your twins are gorgeous. I think they look pretty similar, but yeah - different head shapes. My girls have that too... one's head is bigger and rounder than the other so they don't look identical.

I wanted to mention that our pediatrician told us that fraternal twins can share a placenta if the two placentas fuse early on. So, it can look like one placenta, but it's really two... just FYI.

 

Mine are identical too, as they also shared a placenta, but I think they look so different! Maybe it's just my eye, you know? It also helps that they are 3-4 pounds apart in weight!

This could be my post! My boys are also identical (shared a placenta) but to me they don't look that much alike, though people that meet them for the first time think they look exactly alike. I honestly think it's a mother's (or father's) thing... You're used to seeing them every day and can easily see the differences which to you don't make them look that much alike. My boys for example have different eye shapes and one's face seems rounder... I've attached a pic below (with my sister's twin girls)....
And yes, having twins is great! Your boys are beautiful, by the way!

Proactive genetics costs about $170...

 

I would say they look a little different because their hair is not the exact same, when their hair gets longer and it is fixed the same i bet they will look alot more alike, but I do see that they look the same in their features.

i was also told it looked like there was only one placenta, but that the pathologist would have to confirm it. We will find out for sure on Thurs. Good luck!

Everyone says they look exactly alike but they don't even look like cousins to me at this point! Identical or not, you have some gorgeous girls

They are so handsome!!! I definitely think they look ID, the only difference is the head shape which I think is totally common for ID twins. My boys are ID (shared placenta) but they also have different head shapes and one has a little more hair than the other. These are the only recent pictures I have where I actually got them in the same shot. One has a longer thinner face and the other has a more square face.

With that picture many people said boys. I guess after two older girls , I am kinda sick of all the pink. The girls wear pink, but deff have red and black too .

Your boys are real Handsome and your blog is so amazing. Your boys deff look identical.

 

They are so cute! They look identical to me. The one on the right looks like he weighs a little more.

My mother says my boys can't be identical because they look so different. But they shared one placenta also and had TTTS. Sometimes the look alike in pictures and others its easy for everyone to tell them apart.
