My babies are ONE!

It saddens me to say I have yet to figure out how to stop time and my girls have turned ONE! I really cant believe how fast that went by! I was only pregnant for 8mo and it was the loooooongest 8mo of my life, but these past 12mo, 1.5x as long as I was pregnant, FLEW by!

So today I graduate from FY to 1-4 and I would like to thank everyone who helped me through this first year with your wisdom and words of encouragement. I dont think anyone truly understands what it is like to have twin infants unless you have had twin infants!
I remember when we came home and they slept all the time, I really thought it was easy (even being a single mother with a broken tailbone!), no problem, piece of cake, I told everyone! Then around 1-1.5mo old, they 'woke up' and the next few months were a nasty blur.

I remember hearing around 3mo, 4mo, 5mo, 6mo it got easier and I counted the days until the next month and it wasnt getting easier! Then around 6mo I realized I stopped counting the minutes until they went to bed and I started really enjoying them, they weren't just these helpless little lumps anymore! They were these super cool little people with these awesome budding personalities! And from there it got easier!

I really never thought I could love anyone as much as I love myself but these girls have taken over the #1 spot in my heart!! Its so crazy since I never even wanted kids!

I love waking up each day (just not at 430am!) and wondering what it will bring, what new trick they can show me, or what new words they will say, or what new facial expression they will make!

So it is on this day that I bid farewell to FY and I welcome 1-4. And it is on this day that I pat myself on the back because I SURVIVED THE FIRST YEAR!!! :yahoo:

What an amazing year! Did you ever think it would be as great as it was??? Of course-late night wakings, etc..aside!

What a great post! I to remember counting the days waiting for things to get easier and then all of a sudden it was. Your girls are beautiful.
