My BABIES ARE HERE!

They are here! I made it to my scheduled c-section on the 26th of November at 38 weeks gestation. I was amazed! Especially after 4 trips to the hospital to prevent pre-term labor. But, it was such a blessing. Matthew Caden (6 lbs 11 oz and 18.75" long) and Shane Christopher (6 lbs. 6 oz. and 19 1/4" long) both arrived with little to no incident! It was a miracle!

DH was there for the birth and until lunch the next day, then he headed back to Rucker. It was so hard! But, I was very thankful to share that experience with him. Now I've got my mother here, and I couldn't ask for a better helper! She's been awesome.

Well, as far as the birth story goes, it was a very typical c-section. It was so much easier than last time (V-birth) - I came in, a couple hours later the babies were out and I was in my room. No pushing! It was so awesome! The only bummer for me was that they had to place the spinal twice, and the first one hit a nerve several times. I kicked my nurse pretty hard, which was kind of bad because she was Issac's aunt - but at least she was very understanding! LOL! I've recovered pretty well. Standard pain for a c-section, no big deal.

Before I knew it, the babies were out, and when they both cried together, I couldn't stop crying myself. It was incredible. All I could keep saying was, "We made two! (DH) - we made two!" They were healthy, both had a 9 for their APGAR score, and didn't need any help breathing. They were absolutely perfect. They're feeding like little piggies, and have gained about 4 ounces each since they left the hospital. The doc was concerned b/c they lost a significant amount while we were there. We had a bit of trouble bfing at first, but now they're both pros.

They're beginning to adjust to a better schedule, and Will is just starting to get along with them. I took the boys to their 3 day wellness check today, and while DS1 was in the car with them, Matt started crying, and DS said, "Oh, no! Mommy, oh no!" Then when I comforted him, DS mimicked me. It was completely adorable. Melted my heart!

Anyway, that's the update. I'll be back soon, I'm just so tired right now and need my rest. To all my other preggos out there - you're almost there! Hang on! You'll make it! I'm already feeling more like my old self and my body feels so much better! I don't have to wear full belly panel pants anymore! JUST IMAGINE THE FREEDOM!!!!


Now I'm just able to focus on my babies and my new little family's wellbeing - with or without DH. It's going to be tough, but I know I can do it. After all, I'm surviving being a mom to twins and a toddler.

Erin, they are absolutly gorgeous!!!! I love their hair too! I am so glad you had a positive birth experience- makes me feel better about my c-section next week! You are such a brave, couragous woman- CONGRATS!!!

Congratulations on your boys! I love the one of your oldest DS (doesn't that sound strange, it took me awhile to get used to saying my oldest DD) looking over the crib! So cute! Enjoy them!

congrats! beautiful pics!! your boys are gorgeous. Your dh is an absolute fool if he doesn't get inspired by them to get the help he needs, get his act together and get his beautiful family back. Hope he does just that. in the meantime, you are doing a fantastic job! So happy the bf is going well for you, you deserve an easy recovery road!

Girl, you ROCK You are not only a major inspiration making it 38 weeks with your little guys, but everything emotionally that you are going through....Your amazing attitude and positive spirit, what a wonderful example you are setting for your children.

I know it wont be easy all the time with your husband not being present, but you have the foundation and spirit to persevere. Keep going, keep smiling and I hope you get the rest you need right now.
