    My babies have arrived.

On May 7th I went to my normal dr and she scheduled a 24 urine collection as my protein was up a little and my swelling in feet were really bad. I took it back on Friday and they drew more blood. On the way home from the clinic the nurse called and said that my platelets were low (128,000 - normal is 150,000 to 400,00) and I was to go to the hospital Sat am for more blood work.

Sat (5-9) we went for more blood work in the am. Platelets had dropped to 109,000. The dr on call (not mine) sent me home and said to come back Sun am for more bloodwork. My blood pressure was also high (bottom # was in the 100's) and my hands and feet were swollen. My dr called me Sat night at 8:30 and asked how the results turned out. I told her and she requested I go back to the hospital that night to be monitored as my platelets were low and my high blood pressure.

When I got back to the hospital (1 hr drive) the dr had talked to the nurse and told her depending on what my tests results were, I may have a c-section that night. DH and I were very unprepared as we hadn't even brought a camera! My platelets hadn't dropped again, but my dr decided to do the c-section anyway. As if they would have dropped below 100,000 she would have had to put me under to have the c-section. So on mothers day 5-10-09

Peyton Ayn was born at 12:49 am and weighed 5 lbs 4 oz and was 19 in long. Alyx Kaitlin was born at 12:51 am and weighed 4 lbs 8 oz and was 18 in long. I was able to see them briefly and they were whisked away to NICU. Thankfully they didn't need any oxygen, etc and were released yesterday to come home (5-18). I am still on blood pressure medicine as it is high and my feet are swollen still. But over all everything is going well.

Babies are tandem nursing and eat every 3 hours. I haven't had to supplement formula yet either.

I'm not sure how to insert pictures, but they are both beautiful!
