My Babies Are Here

[SIZE=10pt]I have been trying to get online to post about my baby boys being born but seem to have had my hands full for the last 13 days!
My water broke while I was sort of drifting in and out of sleep on Monday night around 11:30 pm. Went to the hospital about 1 am, was 3-4 cm and both babies were still vertex, I was exactly 37 weeks on the 24th. Walked the halls a bit to increase dilation and speed up labor, at 5-6 cms Dr. wanted me to get epidural since it was a twin delivery "just in case", which I would not have done if it were not best for the babies. They took me to operating room about 630 am maybe a little later. Of course the OR ws full of people, as you all know, and while they were getting me prepped, they could see the very top of baby A's head! I pushed once or twice and his head was out, and he was crying before the rest of him was even born! He was born at 6:56 am, lots of black hair, 6 lbs 14 oz 20 in long...his name is Aiden. His brother came down birth canal hand up by his head and was suffering some serious heartrate decels...down to 50s at times...Dr talked about putting me to sleep and they started prepping for that, but at sam time he was working on pushing him back up to reposition him for delivery and giving me O2 to get his heartrate up. My Dr was wonderful, got him delivering headfirst, he had partial cord around neck, but he was born in very few pushes as well...at 7:05am, he was 7 lbs 1.5 oz and 20.5 in long, also good bit of hair and his name is Noah.

They are amazing and it is much more wonderful and far less overwhelming to have twin newborns than I expected. Lack of sleep is the hardest thing, but getting to stare into their gorgeous little faces makes up for that! Forgive typos please, NAK[/SIZE]

It sounds like a wonderful delivery except for the part about Noah having trouble. So glad everything turned out great and you are all adjusting well. Congratulations!!!!!
