My Babies are Here!!! Birth Story :)

Hi guys,

Well we had an unexpected suprise when my water broke about 10:30pm on Wed, Jan 31st. We hitailed it to the hospital and Lilly Sue and Owen Robert were born via c-section at 12:27 & 12:28 am on Thu, Feb 1st at 35+2 weeks. We had been scheduled for a c-sect on Feb 13th at 37w.

Lilly was 5lb 3oz and 18.5 inches

Owen was 5 lb 1 oz and 17.75 inches

both screaming!!

They let Lilly room with me for about 9 hours before deciding to take her to the NICU, so they are both there in the same isolette together and doing great! Owen was on CPAP for about 1/2 day, but they're both on room air, taking antiobiotics for my B-strep, and do have nasal canulas. They just need to learn to eat. We had a great session with the lactation consultant and the babies yesterday. Right now they are only letting us try once a day... We go home on Monday, and I'm pretty confident they'll be home no later than the end of the week, probably sooner...they said 3-4 days yesterday.

I still feel like I'm living in a dreamworld and I don't think reality has set in. I'm not bothered at all that their in the NICU because they're really in great shape, and being well taken care of, and I feel like my pregnancy was as successful as a mommy could want!

BTW, I was convinced I would have a least 6lbers, my US from a week before they were born said they were 5lb 13 oz...

Just wanted to say I have LOVED the support from this board, and plan on continuing being active here...it's the best!!
