Hey girls! I have been out of whack, as I just got back from a 7-hour trip to my brother's wedding. First my advice/warning; if you are thinking of travel at this point in pregnancy, don't do it! I have had a super easy, uneventful pregnancy, but this weekend wiped me out! Maybe a girl pregnant with twins and no other children could handle it; but for those of you with children you know that travelling with children can be tough. Put your twin pregnancy on top of that and it is a little much.

Anyway, the good news; my u/s and appt went great. The girls are measuring 2lbs6oz and 2lbs5oz and my cervix is closed and long, 3.5cm. Both are head down still, so I suppose this is the cause of all the pressure I feel "down there"! My BP, weight gain, etc. all look great! I figure if this past weekend couldn't get something out of whack, then maybe nothing will! I am so happy to have another good u/s and appt behind me. Going into the 3rd trimester with everything going so well makes me feel so much more comfortable and relaxed about this pregnancy. For the moment anyway, until I think of something else to worry about!!

    Thanks for reading,
    Jen

Thanks for word of advice on travel! I was considering a long weekend at the beach (about 3/12 hours away from home) in June but as this time approaches I am really thinking I probably shouldn't go. I will be about 27 weeks at the time and so far have had an uneventful pregnancy but I think it may just be too much. Twin pregnancy sure does wipe you out!

Happy to hear you had such a good appointment! Keep up the good work!

Good advice about travelling. I totally agree! It sounds like your girls are doing great!! 28 weeks is a really good milestone...only a few more days until you reach that!

Great appointment! I agree, by 27-28 weeks, you look and feel like you are full-term, not fun. :hug99:

Glad to hear the appointment went well after your travels. I traveled right around that period, totally uneventful preg before that, and when I got home I was hospitalized and contracting every 2 minutes. It was very scary and I can't help but think the travel caused my cervical issues.

    Thanks for the great update!

Hope the family had fun at your brother's wedding! I am glad you mentioned the travel... I travel for work every week and tentatively planned to stop at the end of May. Then I thought, "Well, if I'm feeling fine the first two weeks of June then maybe I"ll take short trips for those two weeks." I'm a work-aholic, and I know a rude awakening is coming along with these twins.

Funny, I just finished booking a trip to DC - dual purpose: for work and also for a wedding (I fly out for work, then my DH and DD join me for the weekend).

So after reading your post and after my husband has urged me to take it easy and my manager has told me over and over again to stop travel at the end of May, I am going to officially call this DC trip my last trip! I will be 25 weeks then.

We were contemplating our friend's wedding in Florida the first weekend of June (the groom was in our wedding) but we'll just have to miss it.

This website is a constant reminder to me that I have to do everything I can to keep these girls in for as long as possible!!!

Congrats as you transition to the 3rd trimester!!!

Congrats on another great appointment it is such a good feeling to know that everything is going well. You're right though, that should hold you over for a couple days until you can think of something else to worry about. I think we are all the same when it comes to the worrying. :D
