My 1st night away!

Well you may all know we weaned the twinks 1 1/2 wks ago. (went beautifully by the way) So my MIL calls me up Friday morning and says, "Hey can I have the kids tonight?" I am like "all of them?" she says yes and again I am like "all night over night?" (completely baffled that someone would want to take this on LOL) She says "Yes Briana all of them all night, you deserve a break after this long year" I almost CRIED! I was nervous but oh so happy... this is a feat my own mother is a little weary of tackling, all five of my kids alone!!

So I took them out to MIL's and fed them supper and when DH and FIL came in we bathed babies and put them down for bed. They slept beautifully and ate wonderfully and I dont think they even missed us!! We came back out to MIL after lunch the next day (I got to SLEEP IN!!) and they were like "oh Hi mom where have you been?" and then back to playing. I am so glad it went that way rather than them screaming and terrified because we werent around, I would have felt so guilty! So it is official I have made it through the 1 year with twinfants and now I really am starting to earn a little freedom.

So what did Dh and I do??? We went to the local pub, we dont drink really any more, but had a few beers and watched all our friends make fools of themselves, laughed at them and said, "Oh yeah this is why we dont do this anymore!!" Stayed up late visiting and slept in until 10 AM!!! WOOHOO and then went out to breakfast together! It was a great little break and I just had to share with you all.

 

Briana, that is SO wonderful! :Clap: You have a very sweet MIL! You definately deserved the night off and I'm happy the kids did good, not only did you rest up, but it was guilt free!!! :yahoo: So when is the next over nighter??

Yes it was crazy but oh so nice!! I told MIL that we would be back next weekend!! LOL She said it went so well that she would have kept them another night if she wouldnt have been leaving town the next AM... They were so good she was ready for two nights in a row!! :yahoo:
