Music for Montages...

I know there are quite a few of us who have first birthdays fast approaching! YIKES! And I do also know I am :BDH: . That said... Can you all share your favorite songs for a slideshow/video? I plan on doing one for their birthday(with the over 3,000 photos I have taken!). FWIW-I like songs that have meaning behind them. I really pay attention to the words...

Lullabye-by Dixie Chicks(my all time favorite-for me sums up the journey of infertility and finally having my boys! )

I have been going back and forth on doing a montage. I have started thinking about music, I have a pad on my desk incase I hera something good on my ipod. So far I only have 2:

Perfect Girl - The Cure

 

Don't Blink sounds good .

 

We're using 2 that you already listed (Don't Blink - Kenny Chesney and You're Gonna Miss This - Trace Adkins) as well as

My Wish - Rascal Flatt's (this will play at the beginning during all those NICU shots)

Ilove Somewhere over the rainbow--my favorite all time song. I sang it to all of my children even befor they were born and my 3 year old can sing every word. When hes sick he'll ask me to sing OUR song

I am in the process of making a video of the NICU/First few months time and we are using "Our Father In Heaven" by Carolyn Arends. We are a Christian family and love the words in the song. It talks about how when they start talking we pray they will talk to "our Father in Heaven" and when they start walking we pray they know they can run to "our Father in Heaven". Our favorite line is:

"The greatest thing that we ever could do,
is kneel at your bedside and introduce you
to the One who first thought of the wonder of you,
your Father in heaven."

We love this song!

 

I also made a montage for my husband when to tell him that I was pregnant. I used the song "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds - its a goodie!!!

B.) I got teary eyed
C.) That was AWESOME!

Loved it! What a great way to tell him!!!!!!!! Ya know, this is one of those things when ya go, "why didn't I think of that?"

So-do tell-what was his reaction? I just think that is the coolest way to tell someone! DH and I did IVF, so being able to surprise dh with the news-well-it wouldn't be a surprise!

 

I was listening to Austin Powers rap song to Mini- me -- called "Just the two of us" killed me even more when he raps "daddy loves you daddy loves you". Very twinnie.

 

what program do you use to make those montages ? Lacking some computer skills here....

I'm going to do it on our Apple computer. But I know a lot of people do it on One True Media. They say it's very easy, etc and you can order DVD's from the website.

Okay so i'm not still in the first years with my twins but I am with my singleton. He'll be a year about the same time that your twins will be and having already made one for the twins...i was running out of songs as well. I first off, used windows movie maker - it's easier than you think once you get the hang of it.....The songs i have are....
