I'm 22 weeks and i've felt some sensation of popping and pulling in my upper abdomen that has gone as far as burning. now i feel like i really pulled something right there because sneezing hurts, and when i held my cat tonight, i got a crazy sharp pain when i set him down. it's been getting worse and worse. doctors have all ruled out any problems with internal organs or preterm birth so it's nothing serious...i just ordered a prenatal cradle even though i'm skeptical that it'll be very comfy. anyone have this?

Where is it in your upper abdomen? Under your ribs or up above where your ribs are?

I had something similar, on my left side where my lower ribs are in the front, I started getting sharp pains there. It just got worse and worse the further along i was. I did a ton of reading trying to figure out what was going on. Turns out, my muscle was actually separating from my rib cage on top of it. My dd was firmly pressed up into that corner and the pressure from her was pushing my muscles out and away from the ribs, causing the excrutiating pain. I spent a lot of time using heat/cold packs on it, and trying to get her to move. Almost immediately after they were born, the pain was gone. And I haven't had a single problem since.

Our bodies aren't really made to carry more than one baby, so more aches and pains are pretty normal.

Yeah, kind of right at the base of my ribs in front. It suuuucks. I thought i was going crazy because my friends with singleton pregnancies couldn't relate at all.

Yes it does suck. Everytime it started killing me I'd push on it and try to get her to shift her butt a bit. That's what was stuck up in there! ;) Like I said, try alternating heat and cold packs, it might help with the pain and it might help the baby shift. Don't leave them on for too long though, I think 10 mins max. I had two singletons and never had this pain either, but two babies is a whole new ballgame.

i just need to keep reminding myself that this is temporary and once they're here the pain will be gone and i will be able to take care of them without having to lie down or put my feet up every so often.
