These cups are a royal pain to clean, so I've been using a the pipe cleaner that is used to clean Dr. Browns bottles. Well the down side of this is that the valve that keeps the milk from leaking out is getting weak, so milk is dripping everywhere. Now Mark turns the cup upside down and writes in milk, just like the straw is a pen. :gah: I have no plans to stop using the pipe cleaner because it gets dried up curdled milk if I don't. However, I did find these replacement straws. Before I take the plunge and order these replacement straws. Has anyone else ordered these for this cup? I want to make sure they fit properly.

Also, have others had the problems with the valve leaking?

    Thanks.

Yes, I love the cups because the kids do and drink well from them but you are right, they are a PITA to clean. I have ordered the replacement straws and they do fit that cup well. The first time I ordered them, the white part (the straw part inside of the cup) was too long, so DH cut them down. The second time I ordered the replacement straws both parts (the white part and the top part) fit those cups perfectly. I have not had problems with the valve yet and thanks to your suggestion, I use the pipe cleaner to clean those straws out.

I use these too and yes they leak. However I did find a different kind of muchkin starw sippy that I like MUCH better. Its the mighty grip straw cup. The inner straw is hard plastic an djust pops into the top. Th eplastic top comes out of the ring and can be easily washed. I have hardly had any leaks with these (only if theres residual in the top straw). I never use the flip top ones anymore.

Nancy, Thanks. They were getting leaky, and I also ground up a straw in the garbage disposal last night. LOL!
You know I have those too, and I like cleaning them much better, but my crazy kids like to press down on the rubbery part at the top, and it comes loose and spills everywhere. They worked quite well in the first few months until they discovered that milk could squirt out the top if you pressed down on the plastic part. I still give them water in those because I'm not worried about the clean up if the get it all over themselves.
