Just this week we finally stopped swaddling our youngest, Josh. He's 5 1/2 months old now so he can roll over very well and scoot all over the place. Anyway, since he's not swaddled at night, he's been sleeping on his belly. When I get him in the morning, he is pretty well soaked with pee! I don't remember the twins ever having this problem.

Any tricks or advice? I do already make sure his man parts are pointed down. I fear the only real solution is to change him in the middle of the night. (Which probably isn't going to happen!!)

Try going up in diaper size. The bigger ones are usually more absorbent. You can also try double diapering, adding diaper inserts, or some people even have success with a maxi pad inside the diaper.

We just bumped him up to size 3 diapers because he was soaking the 2's during the day! He's a peeing machine, apparently.

I will try the inserts, that's a great idea! Thank you! Then at least we can keep reusing them.

 Liam was my pee machine too, and yes, I broke down and started waking him up to change him before we went to bed! It helped sometimes. But going up a diaper size at night helped more, because they were more absorbent. You can still use 3's during the day but try 4's for overnight :)

We went to overnights because Jacob's diaper usually weighs as much as Jacob by morning. I know they are more costly but for us it is $19 every 2 months so that's not too bad.

I thought about doing the overnigths too but like you mentioned, they do cost more. For that $20 I got 4 of the diaper liners which I can reuse, so that saves some money anyway! Hopefully they'll work, and if not I can always try the next size and/or the overnights.

Have you checked to make sure that his penis is aimed down and not up? I also had problems with our son peeing out of his diaper when he was aiming up, but when I put him facing down, he stopped wetting himself.

Another thing to try is to fold the very top of the diaper in before you fasten it. It makes a sort of dam for the pee. Aaron's pee has always had the force of a racehorse behind it! It's as if it comes out so fast the diaper can't absorb it in time so it shoots up the front. We had to use the overnights with a maxi pad folded in half (sticky side stuck together) in the front of the diaper. He's my only one that is STILL wearing a pullup at night because he's such a heavy sleeper and wetter.

I've been using the diaper inserts and that has seemed to hold all his pee for now. I guess I can always double up if it gets worse! What's funny is some nights it's like he only peed once or twice and some nights he pees enough to fill a kiddie pool!

I remember the mornings where the diapers weighed what they did LOL...I knew they were "outgrowing" the diapers when they started peeing out of them...Abby was in a size 4 diaper LONG before she hit the weight limit for size 2's just because of the amount of pee!
