I'm not in a huge hurry to move my girls out of their cribs, but they have been climbing out some and that makes me nervous. We have set up their twin beds and they have been asking to sleep in there. So we have been letting them nap in them for the last couple of weeks, but they are still sleeping at night in the cribs. After a couple of rough days, they are sleeping well in them for naps. Did any of you do just naps for a while? How long did you do this before you moved to night time too? Thanks for your help!

No we just moved them all at once. I didn't want to prolong it.

    Hi Kimberly,
When I have moved any of my kids to beds it's been for bedtime and naptime. I've never just done naptime. Emilie has been in a bed now for about 2.5 months now, but that is for nap and bedtime.

If just naptime is working for you then I see no problem with just sticking with naptime in beds. Are they climbing out of their cribs at night too? I would think if they are sleeping well in their beds for naptime you could try bedtime too. :)

yup...same here...switched them "cold turkey"...naps and bedtime. if they like the beds for napping, they will probably like them at night too.

it was a rough transition for us, only b/c our girls are very mischevious. we still have to lay with them at night to go down or else they will be all over the house. we finally dropped naps all together so they would go down easier at night. but they love their beds (and we do too), b/c we can lay with them and read stories, etc. plus we redid their room during the switch which they loved too!

    good luck

Excellent question, I've been wondering this too. Sounds like doing it all at once works best.

I have been wondering about this too. It's making me nervous. I barely sleep as it is, who knows what will happen when they can get up and come get me. Has anyone put up a gate? I have read that a gate usually helps because they will eventually understand that they can't just leave the room when it's time to sleep. One of my friends (who has a singleton) says that she has to put her back in her bed about 10 times a night, times that by 2 and that makes me one exhausted Mommy. I am interested to hear some of the things that worked for other twin parents.
