A short while ago, I posted about our recent move and transitioning to twin beds. J and M were not transitioning well to them. They thought it was play time and DH didn't want us to lay with them because he thought it would start bad habits. I got some great advice from you ladies.

Here is what has happened. I tried again only this time, I sat on the floor between the beds. Jacob kept moving and playing around, getting off the bed, so I finally just put him the pack and play in the next room. Mia was talking, but soon settled and fell asleep in her bed. After that, she wanted nothing to do with the pack and play even at naptime.

I was pretty much ready to just wait with Jacob, letting him sleep in the pack and play (we really have no extra funds for cribs. we have so much to buy for the house), but then we decided to separate them. I REALLY WANTED to avoid this, but since it seems Mia can settle easily without Jacob in the room, we decided to move her in the next room (which was going to be an office) Then we tried Jacob in his big boy bed, now that Mia was not in what is now his room anymore. Sure enough, after books and songs, I laid with him for a few minutes til he was drowsy and then left the room. He didn't get out of bed. So we are on night three of both of them sleeping both naps and nights in their big bed and falling asleep on their own in them!!!! They are sleeping through (the main issue was falling asleep). I am so sad they are not in the same room. I wanted to wait, but it was the most sensible plan. It is so cute though because they say night night and hug before they go to bed!

    Thanks for you advice!

WOW Melissa! That is awesome that you figured it out and got them to sleep. Sorry about losing the office though but if it makes things easier on you in the long run, then it is definitely worth it! Thanks for the update! I am so glad it worked out!

:clapping: Yay! I'm glad you got it sorted. Sorry you couldn't keep them together and had to lose your office space, maybe in the future (once sleeping in a bed is old news) you can move Mia back.

I'm glad that worked for you. So sweet about the hug before bed.
