Ours loved the Signing Time series. They couldn't get enough of it and it was entirely educational too. We actually have our remaining stock on clearance on our site if you are interested:

OMG, I just came here to post this exact same question. Did you read my mind?

Anyway, mine so far have never watched an entire movie (not even in fits & starts). They liked some bits of Happy Feet, and they like the beginning of Milo & Otis (until the kitten gets swept away down the stream -- that is way too scary for them, even though she gets rescued).

Their favorite videos are Elmo ("Babies, Dogs, and ..." something else that we never get to because it's always time for dinner by then); Sesame Street "Learning with Letters"; Blue's Room "Alphabet Power" (a new favorite); and various Thomas videos. We tried Bear in the Big Blue House, which I liked, but Sarah was scared of Bear for some reason...?

They utterly LOVE Blue right now. They talk back to the screen, and enact parts of it on their own when we're not even watching it -- it's so cute. Plus it's encouraging their interest in letters and spelling, so it's OK with me.

Awhile ago it was Little Einsteins and Elmo....recently it has been Blue Clues and Barney.

We really dont do 'movies' rather DVDs of favorite shows.I dont mind since they are all educational.

movie? none...but 1/2 hr shows...Wiggles, Little Einsteins, and The Backyardagains. That's all. It's a reletively short list which I'm thankful for! However, they don't watch the whole thing usually. GL!

My girls love Curious Buddies. It's a Nick Jr video and I bought it for $1.50 at our local Dollar Store. It is the best video we have and the girls insist on watching it nightly. It shows sorting different items and is all about helping each other and at home. The main characters are just fuzzy animal puppets but it's really cute.

[SIZE=12pt]Lately they have really been into Madagascar and Finding Nemo. They even act out Finding Nemo with little fishies in the bathtub. They LOVE Dora too. When they just turned 2 they were really into Backyardigans. They still love Sesame Street and Elmo's World.

Apparently not Dumbo! LOL, sorry, I couldn't resist. :D

Anyway, we still love Signing Time here, just moved on to the Series 2. They also love the show "Miffy & Friends", it comes on PBS. It's very nice and gentle, teaches the usual stuff like sharing, being kind, not really educational though. Other TV shows they like are Backyardigans, Word World, occasional Sesame Street. As far as movies go, they love "The Sound of Music", I usually start it from where Maria meets the kids, they don't really follow all the exposition part of the movie. They mostly just like the kids and the singing. I'm going to try some other old-school musicals with them like "The King and I" or "My Fair Lady". They also still like the Curious George movie, and some Pooh movies I've gotten from the library. HTH!

I was going to say the same thing!

At that age it was either Elmo's World (you can buy like 3 of them on one DVD) or The Wiggles. Not much else would hold their attention at that age.

My girls LOVE the wiggles. They sing and dance and have a great time. They also like My Little Pony, Elmo, a little of Thomas, but not much, Veggie Tales and yes, Sponge Bob.

We caught part of Grease tonight (excuse me while I wipe the John Travolta-induced drool from my chin) and the boys were ROCKIN' OUT! They loved it. Nick was even attempting a two-year old version of the hand jive.

Traditional movies, the kids are into Signing Time. They also recently got into the Series 2 set and "Sports" is their hands=down favorite, but they also like "Outside Time" and "Move and Groove".

We seriously need to branch out in the DVD department though, b/c they aren't buying me the thirty minutes I need to get dinner on the table without a pair of whinny ankle weights getting in my way.

Madagascar has been a favorite FOREVER. I'm so sick of that movie! They don't watch the entire movie, so I just start it from wherever we left off. DH mentioned a while back that he's never actually seen the ending. :)

I am trying to branch out as well. I just bought the Bee Movie and I'm not sure they'll get into it. I also bought Surf's Up and it's terrible, IMO. Finding Nemo wasn't a hit either. I might try Cars again. We DVRd Ratatouille, but I don't think they'll like that one either. I might try Shrek again. I think we need another multi-animal movie like Madagascar for mine to be happy.

We watch Elmo's World every morning during their milk while I make bfast (or post on TS!). We also have a few Elmo's World DVDs, but I think they are actually segments from the show.

We still watch a few Baby Einsteins. Right now Baby MacDonald is fabulous. They like On the Go and Baby Newton right now, too.

The best TV show right now is Super Why! on PBS. It's all about letters and words. They just dig it. I don't think it's on DVD, though.

Mine have lately been in love with Monsters Inc, they love the anticipation of when the monster screams in the beginning. I know it may seem like a little to much for a 2 yr old, but they LOVE it!!! They also like a show called Jacks big music show, it is an ondemand show w/Comcast, it's great, they even dance and mimic what they do on the show.

I keep waiting to be arrested by the mommy police, but my girls (3-1/2) love, love, LOVE "Grease" and can sing all the songs. When I was in Jr. High I must have seen it 50 times, and now watching it, I can't believe how much went over my head at that age.

At 2, their favorite movies were "Shrek" and "Shrek 2" - which made me happy because they're funny for adults too.

    Best,
    Mia

Mine love the Wonder Pets and Backyardigans. Of course they also like Blue's Clues, Dora, & Diego that come on TV, but the DVDs they watch are mostly Wonder Pets and Backyardigans. The Backyardigans have a couple of short movies out that are not just the regualr episodes from their TV series.

my kids must be movie buffs or something..lol. They went to see their first movie at the cinema around 20 months and sat through the WHOLE movie-- i couldnt believe it because they are SUPER hyper! They saw Bee Movie. They love lots of disney flicks-- bc we brainwash them too -- They will watch all of finding nemo, 101 dalmations, Cars, Meet the Robinsons, Little Mermaid (The least girly of the princess movies) Toy story 1 and 2, their absolute favorites are The Incredibles and Peter Pan. Non-disney faves-- shrek 1 and 2, bee movie, and polar express. They are not really into elmo these days-- he kind of fizzled out a few months ago. They love little einsteins. We watch dvd's in the car only, not in the house. I am going to introduce some live action movies as well. They did see Alvin and the chipmunks at the movies and sat through ALMOST all of that.

Mine won't sit through a whole half-hour tv show yet, let alone a movie, but they LOVE the 'music video' at the beginning and end of each episode of Hi-5. It's on Discovery Kids, and we also have it on DVD. No way is it enough to actually get something done like making dinner, but it is long enough to distract them while I clip their nails. ;) I'm guessing when they get a bit older, maybe even by age 2, they'll be into all the stuff in between also.
