I feel like a bad mom, but I am almost 31 weeks pregnant and I still can't tell the difference between the two babies. It makes it difficult to monitor their movement. I feel a lot of movement on my left side but hardly any movement on my right side and a lot of movement in the middle (which could be both babies) Did anyone else have this issue.

I just am freaking myself out probably for no reason. I go to my OB tomorrow.

My wife went through this for a while… an ultrasound identified the problem. Baby A was facing out and kicking my wife… Baby B was facing in and kicking Baby A.

If you’re worried about it you might consider a trip to Labor and Delivery for a quick checkup.

Well don't and do not and really no way feel like a bad mom!!!!!!

It can be really hard to tell the difference. It has a lot to do with the way baby faces, what position they are in, one might be more active then the other. Most the time I feel the same things you are feeling, just up and down not side to side. It can be a little nerve racking to not be able to "track" each baby seperatly but that's what your visits to your OB and U/S are for. If you ever get to worried of course I would always call your dr.

But please, don't feel like a bad mom.

Don´t feel bad! It is really hard to tell the difference, they keep moving and changing positions and it´s hard to tell unless you see them on u/s. My baby A has anterior placenta so I don´t feel him much, at least compared to his brother and both of them are facing "inside"of me!

I didn't feel my 'baby A' move a whole lot until the very end. And at by time it was still no comparasin to my 'baby B's actions. They were both in the vertex position the entire time.

Every pregnancy is different and each child is different from the get go ^_^ Try not to worry about it too much hun and just talk to your OB about it tomorrow.

My baby A also has anterior placenta and when she didn't move for them on ultrasound the other day I was sent to triage for a non stress test - they hooked me up to the fetal heart monitor and watched me for an hour or so. By then, she woke up (!) and all was fine. Baby B is the big kicker and has a posterior placenta. Once they start doing the Biophysical profile, they will monitor baby movement and give each one a score. The BPP is out of 8 and at my hospital, the protocol is the NST if the score is not 8/8. good luck!

I was never any good at telling who was who in utero. You are not a bad mom!

if you have the placenta or both placentas at the front it is even harder to tell. I had one placenta at the front. One baby hardly ever moved (but she sure does now) and the other one moved constantly (and was my great sleeper)

I usually respond to the "movement" questions with the fact that I could on very rare occasion tell who was doing what in utero so don't feel bad. Babies move around, some turn forwards/backwards, sometimes their arms/legs criss cross you're feeling one, the other, or both.

It was always hard for me to tell until the very end (and then of course their movements slow down), where Jonas (baby b) was up high and kicked more in my ribs while Lucas (baby A) kicked/punched my hip bone area.
