    Hi all,
I am 17 weeks with first time twins. I have felt movement since about 12-13 weeks, not full out kicks but flutters that I know is the babies. I have since had an ultrasound and both were moving all around. But I only ever feel the bottom one. Is this normal and if so when will I feel them both. It's a little nerve wraking (sp?) when I only feel one. I keep thinking that something must be wrong with one of them if I can't feel it. I go for the big ultrasound on Jan 23 so I guess I will get some reassurance then, but for now could you all tell me if this is normal or not and should I be concerned or not. thanks

I don't know if it was because this pregnancy was my first, but I don't remember feeling the babies move until after 20 weeks. I think they were too small to really feel them move. Then again I could have felt them move and not have known it.

I think because the babies move so much it is hard to really tell which one you are feeling. I wouldn't be worried at all. For the longest time, I thought my lil girl was the active one & it turned out at the next US it was the lil boy.

I wouldn't be worried at all. Just mention it to your dr so they can explain and make you feel better about it. Soon enough you will feel like an octopus is living in your stomach. [IMG]

I didn't really feel mine til about 20 weeks, and my doc assured me that it was perfectly normal -she said most do between 18 - 22, but it really depends.

I understand how nerve-wracking it can be, but you have nothing to worry about. They are moving around all the time, but at 17 wks they're still small and it really depends on where they're positioned at any moment. If one of them is facing your back you are less likely to feel her/him.

If you are really worried, you might want to just talk to your doc and ask to come in so they can do a quick doppler - that way you will be able to hear the heartbeats and know that they are both fine and not have to wait another ten days to see them. Good luck!

I felt exactly like you! by 13 weeks I was feeling one of the babies, but not the other. I asked the ob, and she said that baby b was in a better position to be felt, and that's why I could feel only him. Now that I'm 23 weeks I feel both all the time. Totally normal as far as I'm concerned!

I am going through the same thing right now...but I can feel the one on the left but not the one on the right. I just got back from the e.r here, and had them check their heart beats. Baby on the left was very easy to find, baby on the right is nearly impossible but the nurse did finally get it. I am overly anxious right now, and a bit nervous too, I just want to be at 25 weeks, then I will know that the babies might have a chance.

If you don't feel like everything is alright, just go and find out...

I wish I had an u/s machine at home, would help put my mind at ease between visits.

I am sure that everything is going to be okay for you,
    I'll see you around here,

My babes are transverse right now, and I feel the one on the bottom more than the one on top because the one on the bottom has a posterior placenta and the one on top has an anterior one -- so the one on top kicks the placenta in the front near my belly and I can't feel it as much. I am 20 weeks now, though, and I definately feel them MORE than I did at 17 weeks, so things are probably fine for you.

I didn't feel a single movement until week 20 and then I did not feel anything consistant until 22-23 weeks. I know it is hard but you really are pretty early on to be feeling consistant movement from both and even when it is consistant you still might not know for sure exactly which movement is which baby. As I progressed in my pregnancy I would think I knew where they were and who was who but then I would go in for my u/s and find out I was totally off. They had moved all around and I truly was feeling both but had no idea. Movement can be very stressful and make us crazy but at this stage I don't think there is any concern if you don't feel either of them at all.

I didn't feel anything until 18/19 weeks...and then until I had them, I really only felt baby B - maybe one kick from A once a day and that was it, baby B was all over the place all the time...and 9 mos. later - that's still their personalities [IMG]
