I am NOT complaining, but - I think BABY A (who is sitting very low on the left side) is kicking my organs. I don't really feel her kicks on the outside as much as I do BABY B (who is up near my ribs). It actually sort of hurts. It feels like it is my colon or something as it makes me feel "gassy" when she does it. I feel like someone is flicking my insides - is this possible? Can you really feel your insides in that way?

Also, I just read that if you don't feel your baby moving 10 times in 2 hours after 26 weeks to call you doctor. I think there are plenty of times throughout the day that I go longer than 2 hours without feeling either of my babies move. Actually, I only feel BABY B for a little in the am and then more actively at night, after dinner. I am really not that alarmed, should I be?

My Baby A is really low and I feel her way less than baby B. She is always kicking something inside me though if she is kicking. Sometimes it feels like she is kicking my butt. lol
I go more than 2 hours without feeling them as well. When I was in the hospital on bedrest, I asked a nurse about this and she said that everyone is different and it depends on where the babies are.

it also depends on where there placentas are. if the placenta is anterior (in front) it can mask movement felt on the outside while a posterior placenta (on back of uterus) allows you to feel fetal movement earlier and more on the outside of your belly. hth

I never did kick counts, it was just one more thing to worry myself sick about! Instead, I just made sure that I felt both babies moving throughout the day. [IMG]

My baby A is also very hard to feel... she is "under" her placenta and baby B is "on top" of hers. I feel B's every lil twinge, but rarely feel A. I dont panic and rarely do kick counts (do them now more because I may be developing Pre-e) I have to sit and consentrate to feel them or else I am just to busy and preoccupied to pay attention. There are actually times when DH sits with his hand on my tummy at night and will say "whoa there was a good one" and I will have not even noticed... I think you get used to the sensation after awhile and dismiss it almost.

Yes it definitely CAN hurt (I've got two who like to jump on my cervix!) As pps have said, it depend on where your placenta is; i didn't start feeling mine til relatively late. They also cycle, and it's not always teh classic 90 minutes sleep, then awake. If you want to try a kick test, drink some juice or something w/high sugar content, lie down on your left side and wait half an hour or so - see if you feel any movement. If ultimately you don't, call your doc -often they will reassure you, or sometimes they will want you to get monitored.

Of course, teh one time i did that at about 30 weeks as soon as i went to the hospital they started jumping around like crazy!

It's hard for me to feel Baby A, too (Lila) - she's the lower one. I think that's why my back hurts sometimes and feel like I have to go to the bathroom and then nothing comes out. I think as long as you feel mvmt through the day you're okay - I wouldn't worry about the 2 hour thing - they could be sleeping for that long.

I was thinking today about the kick counts and I agree with pp, they seem like something else to worry over. So, I'll just keep "listening" to them and if things seem normal, I'll not worry. I think it's funny that my ob office gave me the info on kick counts but only wants to do an untrasound every 4-6 week even now. My insurance will pay for evey penny of the ultrasound, why not do them more frequently. That sounds like a better way to be sure the babies are doing well. I have a appt in two days, I'm going to bring it up. The last one I had to see someone else was sort of given the standard proceedure run around.

Happy kicking and moving and fluttering. A few times I've actually giggled because it tickles!!!
